“Great Hotel”

Great choice of hotel for visiting Shanghai. The room was big and comfortable. Breakfast was great and there was a good choice. Staff were always helpful Location is good - there is a metro stop just outside and restaurants in walking distance too. It was a great base for our stay.

Checked in was fast as the front desk has good staffing. All the hotel personnel were standing by and ever ready to assist. I love their welcome drinks options. The hotel has a section to take basic items - comb, toothbrush and shaver. Room size was splendid. WiFi was available but I couldn't seem to connect, not sure if it's because I'm foreigner trying to access WhatsApp. Breakfast started at 630am but preparation was still underway. Spread wise - basically local dishes. I don't enjoy.

“Not perfect but amazing value”

Although the building and foyer are stunning, our first impressions were not very good. We arrived quite late and check in seemed to take an absolute age, with the staff staring intently at the screen with furrowed brows for a good 10 minutes, as if someone wanting to stay at their hotel was something they'd never had to deal with before. Eventually we found the room. It was spacious and comfortable but very dated. The shower head was loose and had clearly being spraying water at the ceiling for some time, as all the paint was peeling off into the bath. The mini-bar had a menu, but no contents. Which was OK as it didn't work anyway. Neither did the hairdryer. And everything shut well before 10.00pm so we couldn't even get a drink. No matter, there are lots of inviting little bars across the street and a shop just down the road. Breakfast was underwhelming. Loads of stuff on offer but I found very little of it appetising. The Chinese dishes were all pretty bland and vegetable based, the fried rice bowl was always empty for some reason, the western food was American-style bacon (ugh) and those horrible over-processed chicken sausages that always look raw, and the juices were not real fruit juice. Again, no matter, there was plenty of egg and bread and there were stations with people cooking stuff so you could probably get something better if you spoke Mandarin. And at least these was proper coffee. And milk. Day 2 was better. We reported the problems in the room and they were fixed straight away. They even repainted the bathroom ceiling. That evening we ate in the revolving restaurant, which was stunning and well worth the brief moment of panic when I couldn't find the toilets because they'd moved. Extensive menu and both food and service were excellent, except... I get the local custom is bringing dishes out one by one, but we were sat with a bowl of barbecue pork belly and nothing else of a good 15 minutes, which was odd. Maybe they could make sure the rice comes out at the same time, even just for us westerners? Seemed like good value though. Day 3 and checkout was easy. I'd grown to like the place by then. And at the end of the day for the price, by western standards, it was pretty amazing value.

“Uncomfortable experience”

I’d a dinner in Blue Heaven Revolving Rest’t in Jin Jiang Tower in Shanghai 2 days ago. Every’g is fine except the waitress should need more training . I didn’t feel comfortable was looking at me all the time when I was eating. Very uncomfortable .
