I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, The first room was clean and everything worked well, apart from the plug in the bath, which wouldn't open to let the water drain, so I switched rooms. The staff were very professional, helpful and friendly. Especially the concierge, who told me what subway stations I needed to get off, at the various places I wanted to visit. Its also very convenient for the Subway as, its right opposite the entrance, one minute walk. The only negative aspect is Chinese families like to let their children use the corridors where the rooms are as play areas, the staff should control this and stop them from doing that, as it disrupts other guests piece and quiet and wakes them up, a suggestion would be to have an inner door in the room, to block out the noise.

“Excellent hotel”

Right on top of the railway station so you can go anywhere. There is a bank inside for direct help when in need. A huge hotel. I stayed on 9th floor. Super guiet, super clean. Huge brakfast buffets with local and International choices. You should definitely visit the restaurants on top with the ... more

Right on top of the railway station so you can go anywhere. There is a bank inside for direct help when in need. A huge hotel. I stayed on 9th floor. Super guiet, super clean. Huge brakfast buffets with local and International choices. You should definitely visit the restaurants on top with the amazing view. Only minus, the prices. If you decide to eat in is a bit expensive even for a toast but this is expected for a five star hotel.

I came back to hotel after many years since it was renovated. Colossal building in Xuhui district with fantastic view from my room to dynamic city and traffic. Room was spacious and clean 🧽. Corridors are still very probably original with no sign of refreshments beside carpet. Got serviced quick in and out and I can highlight really good breakfast 🍳, not sure if it was expo or it is normal standard but morning was pleasure to experience different cuisines

I stayed here for a week on business in late December. I chose this hotel because it was a high star rating and mostly half way between my two offices I was working from. The hotel looks impressive, and the foyer has a grand feel to it - however the room was a bit of a disappointment. I stayed on the 18th floor. Physically, the room had all the things. But it needs a refurbishment. Several light fixtures were loose, the bath didn’t drain the shower at the correct pace so you stood ankle deep in old water, and there was a constant stale cigarette smoke smell, despite the floor having no smoking signs at the elevator space. (One morning I rode in an elevator with three men who smoked the entire way down, so I know for a fact these signs are just blatantly ignored.) The mini bar was non existent - four bottled drinks, and only a mini tube of Pringle-like chips - which I discovered had already been eaten, and the empty tube returned to my shelf. Also worth noting it was not checked or replaced the entire time I was there, nor did it show up on my invoice. The staff were lovely. I only speak English, and a lot of the staff were able to converse with me, or go get a local staff member who could - or at the very least, talk to me via a translator app on my phone. Very friendly, and when I mentioned the smoke issue to the front desk, they were most apologetic. The restaurant was fantastic. They had a great variety of traditional and western foods for breakfast every morning. Fruit was a bit average, but all the hot stuff was very well done. My other gripe was that their fitness centre was closed for refurbishment while I was staying. I was not informed of this when booking. The indoor pool was completely shut, as was the gym. The front desk reassured me the gym had been moved to some spare rooms on level 6, but when I visited those I was met with three treadmills in one room, and two elliptical steppers and a rower in the other, with two dumbbell pairs in the corner. That was it. Very very disappointing. Something I also found curious was that the hotel has a really unique circular elevator shaft structure, and two of these elevators ride up the outside of the building with glass walls - except these two were turned off for all but one morning of my week there. Such a shame, the view from the lift the one morning I did get to experience them was spectacular. I dunno, I’m not sure if I’ll book in there again. It was nice enough, but the constant blocked sinuses from the stale smoke and the lack of facilities dulled the stay.
