“Very good view over the city”
Well appointed hotel. Near railway station. Good local restaurants. Not far from main center of Shanghai, underground station beside the hotel. Hotel rooms were clean and good showers. Breakfast was good

“Breakfast was great”
Would definitely stay again. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Environment is clean. Rooms are very spacious and clean. Close proximity to transportation and shopping including an underground mall.

“Super Convenient for HSR at Shanghai Station”
The new HSR route to Beijing from Shanghai, at Shanghai Station (not Hongqiao) is amazing. BUT the area looks like it's straight of a communist era factory town city center. The new HSR route to Beijing from Shanghai, at Shanghai Station (not Hongqiao) is amazing. BUT the area looks like it's straight of a communist era factory town city center. The buildings are awful looking. The Holiday Inn Express is the nicest hotel in this immediate area in my opinion. It offers western standard amenities, while still walking distance from the train station. It is equivalent to any Holiday Inn Express you'd find around the world, so nothing exceptional. But it's a step up from the Chinese brand alternatives in the area. Nick

The room was a little odd but otherwise it was clean and nice. My biggest issue that the staff do not speak english and they charged my card instead of my friend's card for the room when we asked NOT TO charge mine! This is a huge mistake! The hotel is centrally located, close to underground and train station. Rooms are spacious. The laundry room, with iron and steam iron and washing machines is a good idea for business travellers to press their shirts. Breakfast is very average and packed with tourists. Lifts and hallways are not so clean, need a good hoover. In general it is a good choice if you only stay shortly for 2-3 nights.
