I went during their May day holiday and stayed for 4 nights. I was diamond elite and they upgraded me to a suite. Room was decently clean but of course there were area for improvement such as dust at the curtain area . Service is good, they are able to speak enough. Breakfast and evening happy hour food were great , huge variety of food compare to other Asia countries. Location is just 7 mins walk to the nearest subway.

The hotel is located in a central area in the huge city of Shanghai. Although the hotel is relatively old, it has been maintained very well, with an impressive entry hall and huge breakfast area. Stayed here twice, each time for a week, in the month of March. While English is a general challenge throughout the country, we had an added challenge of being vegetarian in a meat-loving country. Luckily for us, many of the hotel staff understand some English at least, and of course some are fluent. I especially want to call out Tony in Concierge, Klaus in Front Desk, Martin + Amy in the café and of course Gert from Guest Relations who made the stays very comfortable. Gert helped organize hot vegetarian food for breakfast and dinner, and was very open to suggestions. Coming to the room, we were upgraded to the Deluxe Suite each time, which had a separate living area and bedroom, giving us more than sufficient space for the long-ish time we were there. The bed is firm, there is enough storage area, and of course enough sitting space including 2 work tables. The bathroom had a separate bathtub (although low), and shower cubicle, with excellent water pressure. Breakfast can get crowded but the hotel has a lot of space, and when required, they also layout tables outside. Vegetarians may find options only in cereals, bread and fruit, but if you let the staff know, they will try their best to help. The neighborhood is quite good, with a Starbucks, another café, a small grocery store and a laundry place nearby. Overall an excellent stay, and one I would recommend to other travelers.

As a frequent global traveller sleeping in a different hotel every week. We had a very warm welcome upon arrival by Mr Gert van Beek! Representative Friendly and very helpfull during our stay in Shanghai. For Dutch speaking guests it might be a good reason to select this hotel.

The hotel staff is friendly, professional, and committed to providing a good customer experience. The Director of Guest Relations, Mr. Gert van Beek is very accommodating and consistently available for questions or to provide assistance. There is also a very friendly staff member named Jack Jia that makes breakfast fun! This was my second visit to this property in the last few months and both experiences were outstanding.
