I stayed at the Ningbo CITIC International hotel during a business trip in April 2023. Like most hotels in China, even though the hotel is officially non-smoking, this is almost entirely ignored and smoking takes place in the lobby, elevator, restaurant, rooms ect so be prepared to be surrounded by a constant smell of stale smoke. The room that I checked into for my first night had such a bad smoke smell that even with the windows open as far as they could go (which isn’t much) I woke up feeling like I had smoked half a pack of cigarettes. I went to speak to the reception staff about this and they were very helpful and changed me to a different room and provided an air purifier to improve the smell. This made a world of difference and I had a much more pleasant stay after this. The hotel is quite conveniently located with a short walk away from a big mall and about a 10 min walk from the metro station. You can also reach the high speed rail station with a short taxi ride. The hotel offers a comprehensive breakfast with mostly Chinese breakfast staples but they also have toast, eggs, pastries and a selection of fresh fruit

The hotel is not brand new but it's very clean and well kept. What caught my attention more than others is staff courtesy. The hotel is not brand new but it's very clean and well kept. What caught my attention more than others is staff courtesy. Really kind and helpful in different occasions. breakfast also surprised me for the variety of choice. if I have to find a negative aspect, it will be small bathroom in standard rooms (no experience for suite). But I reiterate: good experience! excellent location

“Excellent Place”

Nice old hotel, 5mins from Tianyi Sq. Most attractions within 30 mins walking distance. Facilities are fairly good and staff are polite. Breakfast is not that appertizing though.. Slightly pricy but it is next to Shangri la.

“Good location, fresh food”

We stayed here on business for a couple of nights. The rooms are a bit tired and some stains less would have been nice but on the whole it was a good experience. On a sunny day the views are nice and I can recommend a jog along the riverside which has good pavement (not always a given in China).
