“Perfect for in between flights”

We stayed overnight in between flights en route from the US to Malaysia. We were initially a little concerned about trying to figure out how to get to the hotel via the airport shuttle in the evening after a fourteen-hour flight, but no worries - it’s pretty easy to find detailed instructions/maps online, and there’s a staffed Marriott counter at arrivals. (As a handy reminder, your checked luggage follows your airline ticket – so even though you may be getting off airport property, your checked bags will automatically get loaded on to the next segment of your flight.) Our room was very comfortable and recently redone, and the room temperature control was great. The bathroom was fine, with a pretty good shower. No Nespresso but there was tea kettle and complimentary bottles of water in the room. There’s also complimentary coffee available in the lobby. The shuttle buses, when we were there, run like clockwork and were full-size busses. We were at the hotel for a grand total of eight hours – enough to shower and sleep – but were extremely glad we spent the money instead of roughing it at the actual airport.

This is our first time staying so close to the airport. We attended the CosmoPack Fair, otherwise, we would stay in downtown HK or Kowloon as usual. But Marriott SkyCity is very convenient and has a free shuttle every 30 minutes to HKG Airport or Tun Chung station. The room is spacious, and the front desk, Ms Chloe, is patient and professional. The Manager, Paul Wong, was able to sort out our inquiries and make our stay a memorable one. A very busy time for the hotel, but the Concierge was efficient and still able to provide the service expected of The Marriott Hotel. Thank you, it is a teamwork worth mentioning.

“Alright if not for a verbally-abusive bus driver”

Mostly functional and alright. Room more spacious than I expected it to be. Place mostly clean. Kids liked the swimming pool - which was also larger than they expected. Mostly functional and alright. Room more spacious than I expected it to be. Place mostly clean. Kids liked the swimming pool - which was also larger than they expected. Convenient transport with half-hourly shuttle bus trips to the airport and also nearby MTR station. Service mostly alright (not too many opportunities to interact with the staff members as we were only staying a night at the end of our holiday to be close to the airport for a relatively early flight in the morning). We did however encounter a verbally-abusive shuttle bus driver, who managed to verbally abuse 3 separate and unconnected families on the same 10-minute bus ride - and all in the hearing of several young children onboard. That ended up being a shocking and, for the children, traumatising 10-minute bus ride.
