Saw this accommodation on AGODA.COM and decided to give it a try. Booked 3 nights. Getting to the Hotel from the Airport was easy. Took Airport Bus A21 from the Airport and got off at Mody Road, Chatham Road South Bus Stop. The journey took about 1 hour and cost HK$34.60. From the Bus Stop, walk up a few metres and turn left into Prat Avenue. The hotel is just about 2 minutes on the left. (To get to the Airport, just catch Airport Bus A21 on the opposite side) The location of the Hotel is superb, right in the heart of Tsimshatsui. There are lots of eateries and shops nearby. I was given a room on the 3rd level. As I booked the superior King, the room was rather spacious. The bathroom was very spacious as well! As I was aware of the ban on single-use plastic, I was mentally prepared not to expect too much. Though the room was clean and tidy, it looked empty. There was no toothpaste/brush, no coffee/tea bags, no disposable sandals, no bottled water. There were big bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and shower cream but no soap or liquid soap in the bathroom. No towel hook for used towels. Also, there was no phone in the room! I had to go down to the reception to inform them the safe was not working. Imagine if I stay on the highest floor... rather inconvenient. (I was later informed that there was a contact number to call, but it goes to the Customer Service (CS) and the CS will inform the Hotel. Do note to make that call, I would be charged an overseas roaming call rate on my mobile!) I am OK to bring toiletries stuff when I travel (I usually do that). However, when you stay in a 4-star Hotel, you expect a certain level of standard and comfort. Even in the lobby, I did not feel a sense of welcome from the reception staff. The Hotel would change the bath towel and clear any rubbish in the room during my 3-night stay. Minimum housekeeping if you stay less than 7 days. Every day, I tidied my bed, washed my used cups, and cleaned the tabletop and the toilet bowl. Would I stay here again? Not if I have a choice.......

Pros 1. Hotel is located near to a lot of amenities eg. convenience stores, supermarket, shopping malls, restaurants, bars, churches, popular souvenir and local snacks stores, easy access to MTR and airport buses. 2. It is not noisy nor rowdy despite located along a busy side street with crowded eateries and bars. 3. Doesn’t have those racks of tourist shopping and tour brochures lined up at the lobby that makes it look cluttered. 4. The main door to the hotel and lifts accessing the rooms are controlled by card keys. 5. Relatively sound proof rooms. 6. The wardrobe has a lot of hangers (more than 10) which were useful. 7. There are is a safe in the room, ironing board and hairdryer provided in the room. 8. Internet TV installed in the room that you may access Netflix (although you need to login with your own ID). 9. The water pressure for both the washing area and shower are quite powerful. 10. The bathroom provides bath gel, shampoo and conditioner. 11. Although the room was not cleaned daily, at least you have the option of getting them to change the towels on a daily basis. 12. Although the room was a bit small (which is in line with HK’s standards), it was decent for 2 guests unless you intend to dance and do gymnasium in the room. Cons 1. The double bed is extremely small and uncomfortable for 2 guests. You basically can’t turn without disturbing the other person. So, recommend to get a family room with 2 double beds so that 2 guests may sleep comfortably. 2. Some staff are not fluent in English such that they can’t even provide basic directions to certain place when asked nor accurate information (eg. even told us that there is no gym when the hotel website explicitly included gym as one of the co-living facilities). 3. Coliving facilities eg. pantry, recreational area for working/eating, laundry room, etc are only accessible to guests who top up (based on a per day usage) and NOT included in the stay. This is very misleading as it was not clearly stated on the hotel website and/or hotel booking website eg. Agoda. 4. There was no hand soap provided in the bathroom. Do bring your own if you are particular about it. 5. We find the lighting in the rooms a bit dim. 6. There was no intercom nor telephone in the room for you to contact the reception. You have to go down personally to the reception to report or talk to the reception staff. 7. For green purposes, they don’t provide bottled water in the room. Please do bring your own bottle and fill them up after boiling the water with the electric kettle provided in the room. 8. There is no teaspoon or stirrer provided although there is an electric kettle and mugs provided in the room. So, if you need to make any hot drinks that need a teaspoon or stirrer, you need to find alternatives or bring your own.

Although the room was small, it looked newly-renovated. Location is convenient for restaurants, train stations, convenient stores, etc. We were accommodated for early check-in (yey!) and front desk personnel was cheerful and friendly. I just noticed days on, the front desk staff stopped looking friendly and wouldn’t even smile when greeted. The lack of some basics like even a towel hook in the shower and hand soap (and dish soap) shave off one star. Come off it; the hotel didn’t exactly gice dirt cheap rate. And I noticed the room was dusty the first few minutes I checked into the room.
