Location: The hotel is located on the beautiful north shore of Hangzhou's famous West Lake, overlooking Solitary Hill Island and the graceful Xiling Bridge. Situated near the financial district, the hotel is an excellent hub from which to experience the city, whether with private car, by taxi, or by bus or train from one of the nearby stations. The city centre can be reached within 30 minutes on foot, or 15 minutes via public transport. The nearest bus terminal can be reached in 5 minutes on foot, while the Shenzhen railway station is a 15-minute drive away, or 30 minutes on public transport.

“Classic Shangri-La Experience and even better”
Strategically located besides West Lake, the staff more than make up for the old rustic experience. It has the grandeur of an old palace but in a very good way. Its my choice hotel despite the many choices in Hangzhou. breakfast is great and rooms are comfy.

Hotel is old, but nevertheless a very comfortable stay with all requirements fulfilled! Accessibility to Xihu is a plus. The staff will impress you beyond words. The hotel is located by the xizi lake and it will only take you no more than 5 minutes by walk to arrive xizi lake.

“Great service but poor hard product”
The staffs were generally very friendly and welcoming. Whenever we walked to the restaurant for breakfast every morning, the service staff would greet us and point us to the breakfast restaurant. There is also a garden where peacocks, chickens and rabbits are kept which i suspect are for the kids. … more

“Only stay after the renovation”
This hotel was shangri la branded by combining 2 local hotels in 1984. There is currently the 1st ever renovation happening in the other wing. I am staying in the unrenovated one I don’t know about theresa may or angela merkel who stayed here, but i don’t fancy staying in a 1984 hotel not yet reno… more
