The hotel is clean and well kept . Location is excellent , close to west street but quiet at night . Mike the concierge speaks good English and is extremely helpful . The rest of the staff speak very little English but are friendly and helpful ...

I stayed in Huating Holiday Inn and i have only good things to say about this place. very close to West street , room was very big and clean. the staff was very nice especially Mike, helps us to get a bus ticket and also tooks us to the station. Will come back again.

During our trip to Guilin last year, we took a boat trip following the Li River to Yangshuo town. This trip was a wonderful trip as the half a day cruise took us through various mountains depicting certain stories. Fishermen had their Cormorants help them to catch fish from the Li River. Upon arrival at Yanhshuo, we were purschasing a few packets of good Chinese when we discovered the Huating Holiday Inn next door. Upon viewing the rooms, we decided to stay in the room nearer to the Yangshuo Park. Though many tourists complained that this hotel was noisy as it was near the main road, but we discovered that it was quiet good at the rate we paid for. A few hundred meters from this hotel is the famous "Western Street" where many Western Tourists like to customised the numerous Restaurants there with their special cuisine of Li River fish cooked with beer. A reminded of the wayside cafe in Paris, France. Huating is an average hotel and at the rate we were paying, we find that it was a good bargain. As we reached Yangshuo and at Pantao Road obtaining a few packets of Chinese tea, we noticed that beside it is the Huating Holiday Inn. Upon inquiry, we discovered that the rate of this hotel is very reasonable. Rooms are averaged for that price. Huating is not too far from the "Western Street" where foreign tourists had their sumptuous meal of fish from the Li River cooked with beer in numerous restaurants along the Western Street. It looked like Paris with their wayside cafe. Not far from the Li River is the Yulong (Jade Dragon River) so serene and beautiful where most tourists would take rowed boats cruising slowing along the river. Many tourists complained that since this hotel is near the Main Road, it is very noisy. But I discovered that the room where we stayed was quiet. Perhaps it was not facing the Main Road but beside the Yangshuo Park. Cheap and worth staying.

“Better places in Yangshou. Watch for them ripping you off. Very noisy.”

This hotel is just out of town a bit - short walk to west street. But it is on the main road into Yangshou town and it is REALLY noisy. We could hardly sleep. We even changed rooms and it was still bad. The whole hotel is smoking and smells of smoke. If it isn't smoke it smell of mould as the walls… more

The beds are incredibly hard and uncomfortable. The pillows are nice. The staff don't speak much English. They are also not very helpful. Be careful of them trying to rip you off - check your bill very carefully. They tried to say we had not paid for our airport transfer when we had. Eventually they admitted we had. The tours are also crap and expensive. If you genuinely can't find anywhere else to stay this place is OK but in a great town with fantastic hotels and inns it isn't a good choice. It is way overpriced for the quality. Much better in town with superior service. Get a room away from the street facing the garden. The road side rooms are unbearable
