I come here for the Canton Fair and this is my first time to China. Since I check in at Club and found absolutely outstanding service there! The staff were incredibly attentive and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. Special thanks goes to Mr. Sam Mu, he is the best bro I ever meet. He introduce a lot about Guangzhou and how can I goes to the fair quicker in the early morning. He is warmth, professionalism, and promptness made my stay truly memorable. A big thumbs up to Mr. Sam Mu, you are outstanding!

“Club lounge experience”

The club lounge provided excellent service throughout our stay. Food and drink were of the highest quality. The staff were attentive and engaging. Our particular thanks go to Corrie Andy and Samuel. The view towards the tower gives a fantastic light show every night.

“Amazing place to stay”

The staff at ritz Carlton was absolutely amazing. The service they provide is great. I stayed at Four Seasons and Ritz Carlton both during this stay, but Ritz was amazing with service. Specially Sam and Wendy looked after me really well. I've stayed few times before as well and will surely be back.

During our trip to Thailand we had a layover at Guangzhou for about 16 hours. Unbelievably neither the travel agency nor airline arranged for a hotel, so very last minute I booked the Ritz-Carlton Guangzhou using my Marriott Bonvoy points. After arriving at 00:30 and exhausted, the staff were everything you'd expect from a 5* like the Ritz-Carlton, but even beyond. Our room had a minor upgrade without asking (amazing view, even though I'm only a gold tier member these days). There's always high expectations with a 5* hotel, particularly with the brand reputation of the Ritz-Carlton, but the quality of the property, service, pool, facilities room and especially the staff were outstanding - above the usual high expectation. Our flight the next day (so about 12 hours after we checked in) was cancelled and rearranged for the following day. This caused us concerns with our 24 hour transit visa. Given we were not expecting to spend any real time in China we relied heavily on the front of house / concierge staff at the hotel. I would like to especially mention 'Helen' who was incredible... She sat and listened whilst we outlined our visa issue and inability to contact the airport immigration department nor airline, reassuring me in excellent English. Whilst she made some phone calls I was given a complimentary cappuccino in the lounge. During this time Helen contacted the local police and made arrangements / agreements that should we be stopped and not have the visa paperwork it would not be a problem. She also spoke to the immigration office in the city, sorted out what needed doing and best of all ensured we were contacts on WhatsApp (which isn't a given in China as it's not heavily used like in the West). She sent me the location both as text and via a pin drop location in the WhatsApp chat and then arranged a taxi for us. She even gave us a little card that said "we are staying at the Ritz-Carlton Guangzhou" with the address and hotel phone number - both in English and Chinese. Even had a little map on it - something to hand to a taxi driver to guarantee we could always get back. The final cherry on the cake was her ensuring she was reachable - directly - via WhatsApp when we were out in Guangzhou should we have any issues at all. She could act as translator if needed as well as provide advice and support. Felt like a dedicated, personal guide and concierge whenever we needed it, wherever we were. I can't thank her enough and she truly made our stay special. The rest of the hotel, amenities, staff, food, service etc is as perfect as you'd expect from a Ritz-Carlton, so I won't go into details. But the location is superb and for a Ritz-Carlton it's actually reasonably priced. About 40 minutes or so from the airport, with a taxi about 100 - 150 Yuan. We never planned to visit the city, and we didn't even think we'd have to book a hotel at all for what should have been a 16 hour layover... What started as an anxiety inducing disaster was transformed into a 2 night (1.5 days) luxury stay in a wonderful hotel. Whilst Guangzhou was fine, I doubt we will plan to visit it as a destination in the future. However if you need a hotel in Guangzhou this is the one to go for without question. Again, special thanks to Helen and our deepest appreciation to all the staff at the Ritz-Carlton Guangzhou, you transformed a worrying, problematic situation into a delightful 2 night stay of luxury and comfort.
