The location, especially considering the price, is fantastic. Walking distance to Tiananmen Square and the Wangfujing metro and shopping area. We were able to get a taxi right outside the front door so I don't know why others are saying this isn't possible. The hotel itself is old, tired and very communist. However our room was clean and I had no real complaints, just don't expect luxury. Wifi (with VPN) worked well. The worst element were the staff who were incredibly slow and rude to the point of frustration. I would also avoid the breakfast and restaurant. But all in, these points aren't very important - it's a reasonably priced hotel in one of the best locations

Hotel is located right next to the wangfujing pedestrian mall. Excellent. But the hotel is located on a street where no cars or taxis are allowed from 9 am to 9 pm. Hotel is located right next to the wangfujing pedestrian mall. Excellent. But the hotel is located on a street where no cars or taxis are allowed from 9 am to 9 pm. We had to alight about 50m away from the hotel entrance and lug our luggage along the street to walk towards the hotel. This was not good. And the hotel thinks that this was acceptable. The inside of the hotel was dated. Furniture was old and some were loose, e.g the bathroom tap and bed side lamps.
