This hotel is not in the centre itself but a little to the west but it is on a main metro line in to the centre if needed. This hotel is not in the centre itself but a little to the west but it is on a main metro line in to the centre if needed. I was here for several days and though the service was OK although several of the staff seemed disinterested; some were very helpful and spoke pretty good English too. Breakfast was OK on the first day but I think they changed chef between days and was not so good for me as a westerner. My room was pretty good and free WiFi throughout. None of the air conditioning units in China seemed to work - is this a national thing to reduce power usage?

Solid Chinese hotel. The rooms are nice and cleaned pretty well (same or better than most Chinese hotels I think). The restaurant is pretty good but a little pricey (try the baozi). The staff is friendly and there is usually someone nearby that speaks english, but not everyone. The location is ok. About a 10 minute walk from the nearest metro, and about 15 to 20 from the nearest Western style coffee shop. There is not a lot in terms of restaurants in the immediate vicinity, but quite a few if you don't mind walking a ways. As others mentioned, there were adverts for 'massage' slipped under the door every day (kind of like what you see in Vegas), which does concern me a bit about security, but I had no concerns other than that.
