“Okay hotel with nice views but needs improvement”

This hotel was fine. It has a lot of potential but not realized. The pluses: beautiful setting in the ocean. Rooms ere basic but clean. Breakfast was fine and included. Hotel is a mile and a half from town and walking to tiresome. They would cabs though if needed, but one never showed. Would be great if they rented bicycles. Pool was not very clean so avoided it. Wi-Fi works in lobby but not rooms. Breakfast doesn’t start until 8 which is a bit late since some tours begin at 8:30. Generally hotel needs a brush up, parts are run down. Lobby attendant was new and clueless about lost things. Water is not drinkable, bad taste and they only sold small bottles and then ran out completely. Better options are likely available.

“Beautiful location”

We were part of a tour group and this was our base for two days. A comfortable room with a nice view. We a had a double bed and a single bed. Both were comfortable. We were part of a tour group and this was our base for two days. A comfortable room with a nice view. We a had a double bed and a single bed. Both were comfortable. It fronts the ocean and the landscaping was well done. The pool is around 4 feet and enjoyable on a hot day. A great place to watch the sunset. The internet worked best around the pool, not in the rooms. Good breakfast with scrambled eggs and various fruits and cakes.

“Beautiful grounds but below average rooms”

Stayed here for three nights. Staff was helpful, grounds were beautiful, but hotel rooms were really lacking. Stayed here for three nights. Staff was helpful, grounds were beautiful, but hotel rooms were really lacking. In addition, if you want to go to Hanga Roa, you will need to take a taxi (about $4-6) as it is outside of town and there is not much around except for the scenic view. We stayed in Room 2 which had a slab balcony with a million dollar view. Shampoo and bar soap were provided. There was a stained tub and shower in our room. A/C turned on and off with noise. Bed had old springs and an old bedspread. We used only the top sheet. No washcloth. Room could have used a better cleaning. No wifi in rooms. Need to go to reception to access wifi and needed to sign-in every time. Gift shop in lobby but only open certain hours in morning as another party owns it. Included limited breakfast consisted of scrambled eggs (until they run out), cheese, ham, pastries, fruit, coffee, tea, one juice, water plus a few other items. No TV. Bring mosquito spray as you will have bites. Dogs and cats roaming freely throughout grounds and lobby which is commonplace in Easter Island. Had problems with out toilet constantly running-needed to call maintenance several times but were prompt in coming to fix. If grounds were not so beautiful, I would have rated it lower

“Great vistas, needs updating”

Located less than a mile from the airport, this property has sweeping views of the volcanic shoreline and the Pacific but is in desperate need of an updating. Located less than a mile from the airport, this property has sweeping views of the volcanic shoreline and the Pacific but is in desperate need of an updating. Our room had a beautiful view of the ocean with its from its small deck, but the room looked like something out of the ‘50’s with wood paneled walls and tiled floors. The room did not have a luggage rack or place to put a suitcase. There was a TV rack on the wall, but no TV (not that it mattered as we weren’t there to watch TV, but just speaks to the maintenance) and there was very little water pressure in the bathroom. The resort appears to have been added on to at different times and our area may have been the oldest. There is a nice bar with a good selection of wines, beers and specialty drinks and the separate restaurant area opens out to the ocean, but the service was spotty, and we were required to charge everything to our room which made things slower both during the meals and at checkout. The breakfast buffet was nice and dinners very tasty. After all these complaints, you would think I would say don’t go here, but the beauty of the area and the location trump things. And if they do the updating, this could be a 5 star.
