Wonderful renovated rooms. Great walk in shower. Balcony was a perk. Nice to be able to open slider doors for outside air. Bed was so comfortable. Added bonus of fresh popcorn available in the fun room. Office Mgr. Adil and Grace were very professional and went out of their way to make sure we were put in a quiet room and had everything we needed.

“Updated rooms, but older place recently remodeled.”

I booked through a Priceline deal where they picked the hotel. I was first bummed that of the 3 it was the one chosen and the furthest from the downtown Victoria area. It is not walkable to much. I booked through a Priceline deal where they picked the hotel. I was first bummed that of the 3 it was the one chosen and the furthest from the downtown Victoria area. It is not walkable to much. I had to uber multiple times to go anywhere. though the ascetic of the outside of the hotel did not match the pleasantly nice remodeled interior. The room was nicely decorated and had upscale amenities I would expect in a 4 star hotel Though I was very confused by the very old elevator that the buttons didn't even light up. Then I tried to go downstairs by the stairs and got lost!!! First set ended in a storage room, that I probably shouldn't have access to as a guest. Then tried another staircase and it took me outside. This all was a little concerning especially if there was an emergency I wouldn't be able to easily find my way out. I know the Reno is new and they have some things to work on, but I would love to see more attention to detail in other areas that I saw in the rooms themselves. Overall the bed was great, the room was great, nice stay if not for the couple of other things.

My partner and I stayed here for a week in September. All the staff we met were friendly. I assumed that there would be a guest laundry room, but there is not so we had to walk to Scrubby's. That's on me for not double checking before booking. The ice machine is located in a room with where a washer / dryer used to be (outlets on the wall). The big TV, foosball table, and popcorn machine downstairs was fun. I wish there was a hot tub in the hotel or at least a bathtub in the room to soak in after walking 20k steps. We enjoyed the food at Floyd's Diner and Hecklers. Our room happened to be on the end where Hecklers is, so my ear plugs were essential for blocking out people talking directly below our window. I'm thankful we were in the 2 storey part of the hotel. The AC unit was finicky to get cooling properly (turn off ECO mode so the fan doesn't stop well before reaching your set temperature). The King bed was very comfortable and the shower was great water temperature and pressure-wise. The sink is a bad design; the shallowness and flat bottom combined with the tap on full blast = water everywhere. The countertop felt a bit small for 2 people's toiletries. I was surprised at the cheap, small wall hair dryer. For a 3 star hotel, I'd expect a bigger, separate corded hair dryer. The mini fridge was a good size, not too small. I was glad to have blackout curtain to help fall asleep. The smart TV initially wasn't connected to the internet but that was fixed promptly the following day. There is lots of lighting in the room so it never felt gloomy, even on the rainy days! Room service didn't even meet the bare minimum I'm used to in Alberta at a 2 star hotel. Our face cloths were never replaced the entire trip. I eventually asked for 2 to be brought up and then used one of them. Only that other clean one was present after we got back the following day.. I think there must've been a shortage or something? The body towels were smaller than the average hotel towel. The shower and tile floors of the room never looked to be cleaned/vacuumed; it seems they only do that the day you leave. It was fairly easy to get a bus to downtown and the grocery store. We also walked downtown from the hotel. For the price ($195/night with fees+tax) and appearance of the hotel I expected a bit better.
