“A good night's sleep thanks to a great suite”

This is a simply great hotel if you do not like being downtown, like having great facilities and with easy transport: - we booked the room several weeks in advance, calling the hotel and asking for a quiet suite. The original person I spoke with booked the wrong room and one day prior to our arrival here I called them once again to let them know of our late arrival, at which point the hotel mentioned I should take suite 1007 which is in the corner (overlooking south and the mall underneath) and not 1001, allocated initially which is right near the lifts!!! - this corner suite was simply great, with TVs in each room, proper bath to relax in, small fridge for your juice/milk/fruits etc if you like having this, besides microwave etc. No utensils/plates, but concierge brought this for us, which was great - the reception staff was brilliant and completely understood our point when we detailed our 40 min wait (based on the timing of our pics) to simply have a breakfast a la carte, while other people arrived, had their mountain of food from the breakfast bar and left while we still waited. To ad insult to injury, the breakfast manageress said 'we are a bit busy here', meaning they cannot serve a la carte. Then why waste people's time who come here and eat a la carte: perhaps they could put a note saying they serve only breakfast buffet, right? - breakfast area is on the 3rd floor while from the second floor you can walk into the Chinese mall spread on 2 levels, one with dozens of amazing fast food type restaurants and on the lower with a market selling almost anything you can think of: the downside is that everything is a bit pricier, as I got some expensive lychees and other fruits I need to have all the time, as well as a meal which was over 20 dollars. The majority of people originate from that part of the world and their communication is rather limited. There are also outside businesses I could see from the window of our suite (in the circle beneath us) selling also juice, cakes etc - due to this mall, hotel parking can be very difficult, as you try to leave the 'hotel parking level' and other people simply block it with their needs screaming at each other in their language: we have witnessed this several times. The hotel parking can be accessed from the left hand side of the hotel entrance, which you can easily miss. This is the road where I saw a massive accident as people use the road as they learned in their countries - walking south from the hotel, there is a Sky train if you wan to go down town and 2 massive supermarkets where I was walked on by people several times with their large families not bothering to apologise and only speaking in their language. At least my sleep at the hotel was great and relaxing. And yes, we could unload the car in front of our hotel as we tried not to stay too long.

Room 1007, two nights. I've known this hotel for more than 17 years, events, colleagues staying over, etc. This was my first stay... The good: Very quiet, clean, great views, location, comfy bed, nice quality linens, very good breakfast, plenty of parking space (not free). Friendly staff, upgrade… more

Room 1007, two nights. I've known this hotel for more than 17 years, events, colleagues staying over, etc. This was my first stay... The good: Very quiet, clean, great views, location, comfy bed, nice quality linens, very good breakfast, plenty of parking space (not free). Friendly staff, upgraded large screen TVs. The bad: This suite was a bit smaller than others I've been in, so the bathroom was on the small side. Also, bathroom vanity cabinet was worn out. Toilet paper was on par with a cheap motel, get it together Hilton.... Overall: This is a great hotel in the middle of a major shopping mall area, and despite its minor shortcomings, I will stay again and again if I have the option

“Disappointing Executive Lounge”

The executive lounge on the 18th floor was a major disappointment, definitely not on a par with other Hilton executive lounges. The executive lounge on the 18th floor was a major disappointment, definitely not on a par with other Hilton executive lounges. While breakfast was OK, the snack offerings throughout the rest of the day consisted of 3 snack mixes which were all mainly peanuts. The evening appetizers were awful - each night there were 2 offerings - a hot choice (such as a pizza or pierogis), and a cold choice (a chopped-up salad containing peppers, red onions, and tomatoes). Some nights, these appetizers were clearly recycled leftovers from the night before, such as hard dried-out pierogis or runny wilted chopped salad.
