“Business stay”

Extremely quiet business stay. Was on a higher floor which helped with street noise, facing the CN Tower. Extremely quiet business stay. Was on a higher floor which helped with street noise, facing the CN Tower. Did not eat at any of the restaurants but the conference food was fine and there is a great little unaffiliated coffee shop connected along the shopping corridor. Very clean, with daily housekeeping. The elevators tended to be slow or get backed up when conference attendees were clustered with use. During peak traffic times may need to plan an hour for airport travel time, but during off times was able to make it to and from in about 30 minutes. Many restaurants within walking distance and a nice walk down to the waterfront and Tower plaza.

The hotel is located in the financial district but it was central for looking around Toronto. The hotel check in was friendly and we were upgraded to the exec floor as we were diamond members. The hotel lobby and corridors look to have been newly renovated, but the rooms look dated in comparison and the bathrooms are small and underwhelming. Still we slept very well and the bedroom had lots of space and good selection of tv channels. The executive lounge is the overall disappointment of this hotel. It’s on 32nd floor with amazing views across Toronto but every time we went there it was dead and there was no one there from the hotel! Usually there is someone there to assist you and can provide concierge services etc, but it was left unattended until drinks and food came out at 5pm. Here’s the other rub, you have to pay for alcoholic drinks at happy hour!! This has never happened in any exec lounge I’ve been to and it was told this was something to do with Ontario law, but this seems like an excuse as the BA lounge at the airport could give out free alcoholic drinks. Therefore it doesn’t seem worth ever paying for. The free snacks were the same every night as well and were just ok. I’m not sure why the hotel bothered to have a lounge given its lack of interest in it! Still I slept well and the service in non executive areas of the hotel was faultless. The lobby bar in particular had extremely good service.

“Avoid corner suites!”

We booked 4 nights in a corner suite but ended up downgrading after being moved twice. This has never happened to us before. We booked 4 nights in a corner suite but ended up downgrading after being moved twice. This has never happened to us before. The noise from the elevators and generators was so loud it was impossible to get to sleep. It seems like the hotel staff know this is a common problem and yet they are allowed to sell these rooms at a premium. Avoid rooms 3022 and 3102 if you need a quiet space. Thankfully we moved to a room in the middle of floor 24 which was just fine. Breakfast was ok. Not a huge choice of extras like dried fruit though etc. Gym was decent with a good selection of equipment.

I don't usually review but had to given the change in experience. We came here last year during reno's and was way better. We were so excited about the restaurant as the food was amazing and had vegan options. Chef came to our table and we chatted for awhile. Restaurant is now a french restaurant and right out in the middle of the lobby. Zero vegan options. The hostess of the restaurant was very nice though. The restaurant attached is a steak restaurant so my vegan friend obviously cannot eat there either. Lobby is beautiful though. Elevators - we are not sure what was happening but was taking at least 10 minutes or more to get an elevator. Stairs to 18th floor not really an option. At one point we waited so long and were in wet bathing suits/towels shivering, the very nice security guard took us to service elevator and he took us to the 18th floor. Next morning we waited not too long and the small elevator that looks at city opened and three people and luggage already in there. We said its ok go ahead and the one man said you really want to wait another 1/2 hour? So we got in. Everyone was discussing the elevator situation. Pool was so nicely heated so that was a real treat. The pool side bar was unfortunately not open for some reason which would have been nice. The pool is not aging well but was still very warm and a nice experience. Love outdoor pool please don't change that. We are uncertain if we will come back as the conveniences we loved are no longer there. But we will see next concert.
