I had a very nice 3-night stay at the hotel. I booked directly from its official website, and the total price for 3 nights was U.S. $772, which I consider pricey. However, this hotel was one of the cheapest options for my dates in Quebec, and its quality was good enough that I did not regret paying this amount too much. I have to mention the hotel building, which is old and has a very interesting and unusual architectural design for Quebec. By the way, you can see the hotel’s building from almost every point in the city, which is funny. If you get lost in the city and need to find the hotel, just look up, lol. I liked the hotel’s location a lot, actually. Even though it is not in the heart of Quebec, the distance to the historic part of the city is walkable, maybe a 10-12 minute walk. The walk is very pretty if you take the main road or the road along the park. A day before arrival, I requested a room on a high floor with the best city view, and the front desk staff fulfilled my request and gave me a very nice room. The room was pretty big, decorated very basically, but it was definitely recently remodeled. I loved the very big window, which let in a lot of natural daylight. All the furniture was in very good condition. The King-size bed was very comfortable. Probably the weakest part of the room was the bathroom, which was not well-designed, had inadequate lighting, and a very small bathtub. Moreover, the bathroom amenities were of poor quality and smelled unpleasant. An additional downside was the absence of a toilet brush. In general, the hotel was impeccably clean. The hotel’s lobby was beautifully decorated. The hotel has many elevators, which was a big plus, and they were all super fast. Also, I need to mention that the hotel was super busy every single day of my stay because big groups of people stayed there, and many tourists came to the hotel for lunch or dinner at the restaurant on the top floor, obviously to enjoy the city views first. Was U.S. $260 worth paying for my room? To be honest, no! The room did not look that nice. Was the service worth $260 per night? Also no! Nothing luxurious was happening around. So if your rate is as high as mine was for a Standard Room, do not expect anything very nice from the hotel except the fantastic city views. But do I recommend this hotel for a stay in Quebec? Absolutely!

“Worth it for the price, good location and clean.”

For the price, it’s worth it. The location is great, the view is fabulous, everything was very clean, including the pool area. Everything is a bit dated, some things could use some maintenance but we are travelling with small children so we weren’t worried about them damaging anything at least! B... more

For the price, it’s worth it. The location is great, the view is fabulous, everything was very clean, including the pool area. Everything is a bit dated, some things could use some maintenance but we are travelling with small children so we weren’t worried about them damaging anything at least! Beds were comfy, sheets clean, towels good enough. I’d stay again, it was a bargain for the junior suite and in such a good location. Staff was pleasant on check in and out.

Like many other reviewers, I was unimpressed by this hotel. It seems to have been, at one time, quite a lovely and luxurious space but it has become rundown over the years of no maintenance. It reminded me of a hostel more than a hotel level of accommodation and I have stayed in many hostels so are able to make that comment! That being said, the bed was comfortable, the sheets were cleanish with no bed bugs (as others have experienced). The towels in the bathroom were threadbare and when the were changed out we never seem to get a complete set in the five days we were there. I went to the pool and grabbed a couple of towels! The toilettries are pretty questionable (eco-style) and were harsh on hair and skin. Bring your own! The location is fantastic being walking distance to the old town, Plains of Abraham (right out the door), and Quartier Cartier. The local bus #11 stops right outside which makes it easy to get around ($3.75CND per trip per person) economically. Now that I know what to/not to expect, I would stay there again and be ready for they lower-level of hospitality. There were quite a few hostels and auberge in the area that I would also consider for the sake of convenient location and maybe a better price and experience.
