“Phenomenal Stay”

My wife and I spent 2 nights at Hotel 71 in the lower district of Old Quebec City. It was one of the best hotel stays we’ve had. The hotel is in a 19th Century bank building, yet it had fully modern amenities. The king bed was extremely comfortable as was the rain shower. The views from our room were as of the old city walls. The location is only a block or two from many restaurants and shops. Most of the old city is less than a 30 min walk away. We were able to come back to our hotel and relax off and on throughout the day. The staff was extremely kind and helpful throughout our stay. My wife loved the soaps and asked about where she could buy some more. Instead the lady at the front desk gave her a bunch of additional soaps for free! We drove a car here. While cheaper self parking is available in public garages nearby, for $40 CAD per night you can upgrade to valet parking. Do it! We didn’t even use our car in our two days in Quebec City. It took only a few minutes for valet to bring the car around. It was so convenient compared to self parking. Hotel 71 is one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. I highly recommend this top-notch establishment.

“Lovelocation”

We loved our room !! The customer service! It was easy ! Location !! The shower perfect ! Very clean ! We enjoyed walking around seeing all the art galleries ; visual and the food was great; easy shopping ! Peaceful area; The hotel is defetinely a win win!defetinely would recommend !

“Perfect weekend getaway!”

We had a wonderful stay. We were upgraded to a beautiful, what felt like a rooftop apartment, suite. We had a beautiful terrace where we watched fireworks from. The room was very clean. The bed and linens were comfortable. The shower was great! Highly recommend and would stay here again and again!!

We just stayed at the Hotel 71 for two nights. The physical appearance of the room was good, clean and spacious, but very dark, I would say that the location of our room was likely the worst in the hotel, even though it was a deluxe room, which I understood to be mid class as far as cost. It was on the 2nd floor out across from another taller building, no view. It had a beautiful bathroom though with the most amazing shower. Additionally, the public amenties were beautiful, the espresso bar was awesome. The location of the hotel was also fantastic, right in the middle of everything. Unfortunately, for us, it lost marks in the service delivery. It started off positive, the first young valet who greeted us and helped with our car was fantastic. The front desk was friendly and professional, we discovered the light above our bathtub was burnt out, they did not fix it but did provide a mini lamp. After that, service was uneven at best, in the majority of interactions with staff in elevators or hallways we were met with silence and ignored. On the first day we returned to our room around 1pm and the room had not been refreshed, (the makeup room light was on) but staff were cleaning the room next to us and saw us return, so we assumed they'd get to our room next so we left and went down to the lobby to enjoy the beauty of the public space on the first floor. After about 45 minutes I went up to our room and found it untouched and staff were all gone. I had to ask the front desk to get it refreshed, which they obliged. While we continued to wait I went to the fitness center to workout, the machine I wanted either wasn't working or I couldn't figure out how to start it. I used a different type machine instead, then realized there were no towels available anywhere so I had to return to the first floor covered in sweat. Thankfully, the room was finally ready and I was able to shower. Bottom line, the hotel was really ok, and ultimately if I went back to Quebec City I would not return to Hotel 71, I'd take my chances on one of the other options.
