We booked a Gold Floor Junior Suite and required 2 separate bathrooms. There are not many of this type of Junior Suite but they noted the request and upon arrival, we were more than pleased with the accommodation having the 2 bathrooms. The concierge staff were very helpful in arranging dinner reservations and providing a forgotten phone charger. Of course the location of the Chateau could not be better for touring around Quebec City.

“Iconic. The main location within the walled city.”

It’s hard to add on to what people have already said. It is the central fixture of Quebec City and often recognized as the “most photographed hotel in the world”. It’s hard to add on to what people have already said. It is the central fixture of Quebec City and often recognized as the “most photographed hotel in the world”. That made it an obvious choice to stay there the only time I’ll likely be in Quebec City, so splurge a little. I’ve paid for much pricier hotels with a worse experience. They outlined the Amex fine hotels advantage in a letter so if your reading this with an Amex platinum, it’s a no brainer just book here. Free breakfast, $100 US ($128 CAD) credit for food. Late checkout and we got an upgraded room. The room was much larger than the fairmont we stayed at in Montreal. Service was always helpful and friendly. They had a scavenger hunt for my 7 year old for something to do at night, even ended with a prize. There’s history and artifacts on one level to show you the significance of this beautiful chateau. Always greeted with a smile and not much waiting with plenty of staff. Since we didn’t have a car there were no problems at all and always a taxi available if you had a long wait for an Uber. This will always be a fond memory for my family and I am glad I didn’t try to save money by booked near by. It is busy at times, but they handle it well. Pool was adequate but always crowded. And the Le Sam restaurant is a must (especially if you have credit) the views out to the river are serene. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

“Luxury at its finest.”

Simply a stunning luxury hotel. Perfectly located with beautiful scenery and superb staff. The room was lovely and clean. The food in the hotel was delicious and the Gold Lounge was the perfect place to enjoy the scenery with a glass of champagne.

The friendly and skilled staff in the Gold room welcomed us with smiles and prompt service every time we entered the room. Getting to the 14th floor from our 11th floor room was frustrating, as only one of the three elevators was in service. I clocked one wait time at twelve minutes. The tiny bathroom in our room offered very little space for our personal toiletries, and the translucent glass in the door meant that if one of entered the bathroom and turned on the lights, the sleeping area was also illuminated. This bad design element should be corrected. On a rating scale of value received for price paid, there was good value from the Gold room staff, but poor value based on the tiny bathroom, and extremely poor value based on the wait time for the elevators.
