I wish all areas we visited in the last year had a BW as they have reasonable rates unlike other Hotels that have doubled or tripled their rates since covid making it hard for people who travel to get a reasonable price. The hotel was clean and rooms were well maintained. Beds were comfortable and a variety of pillows to choose from for those who which soft or firm. Lots of amenities in area to choose from.

“Fully met expectations”

My wife, son and I stayed at the Best Western Plus Durham Hotel for one night after flying into Toronto Pearson that evening and making our way to Kingston the next day. We paid $145 (including taxes and fees) per room for each “Standard room, 2 queen beds”, booking about two months in advance through Expedia. We arrived close to midnight. Check-in was quick and easy. The desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room fully met our expectations. There was nothing spectacular about it, but no problems either. There was an ample supply of soaps, shampoos, etc. The room had a much larger than usual bar fridge. Oddly, the flat screen TV seemed to get channels in low-definition. I don’t recall hearing any noise from the street or surrounding area. The included breakfast was just okay. In addition, it was only available from 6am-9am. We had just arrived that night and were still on pacific time, meaning despite not turning in until 2am (local time), we had to be up around 5:30am pacific time (i.e., 8:30am local) in order to not miss out on breakfast. The breakfast itself was just okay. There was a small supply of pre-pressed hashbrowns and omelet triangles. There were also some breakfast sausages. There was a waffle machine and a bowl of bananas. I didn’t see any muffins, pastries, doughnuts or anything similar. I would have rated this as 3.5 (out of 5) if that had been an option. Given that I only award a 5-out-of-5 to the top 5-10% of properties, the best score most properties can get is 4/5, and this property was closer to “average” than it was to what is usually my highest possible rating of 4. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
