We recently stayed at the budget-friendly hotel "Chrome" and had a pleasant experience overall. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of several attractions, making it an ideal choice for travelers looking to explore the area without needing a car. The rooms were clean, comfortable (though small in size), and well-maintained, providing all the essentials for a relaxing stay. Despite its affordability, the hotel did not compromise on quality or comfort, ensuring a good night's sleep. However, the room was slightly small, which might be a consideration for those who prefer more space. There were a couple of additional downsides to note. Firstly, there is no on-site parking available, which may be inconvenient for those traveling by car. Secondly, the hotel lacks breakfast or dining options on-site. This wasn't a major issue due to the nearby restaurants and cafes, but it would have been a nice addition to the overall experience. In summary, Chrome is a nice, budget hotel in a convenient location. It's perfect for those looking to stay close to attractions without spending too much. Just be prepared to venture out for meals, find alternative parking arrangements if you are driving, and manage with slightly smaller rooms.

“Okay”

The Hotel has seen better days but it’s clean and roomy. The price is alright especially because the centre of Montreal isnt far. We could explore everything by foot. The parking situation is problematic obviously. The recommendation by the staff was a parking lot around the corner all in all: okay

Centrally located, 20 minute walk from VIA station down flat road. CAD$13 by Uber. Food court and IGA supermarket within 500mtrs. Early check in costs $20, with taxes $23. (Only 3hrs early and room was ready). $4 per bag for bag storage if wanting to store bags to explore until check in time. (Wasn’t charged this on early check in at Toronto, Ottawa and Quebec City). Rooms have no kettle. Comfortable beds. Bathroom door needs force to open/close. It rained throughout one day and the windows leaked dripping water to air conditioning unit, creating a puddle in window sill, so had to switch it off for safety reasons. Within walking distance to many tourist sites.

“Basic hotel, but I can recommend it.”

I stayed at this hotel for only one night because my previous hotel in Montreal was fully booked that night. I have nothing majorly negative to mention about my experience. I paid U.S. $95 for my Executive Suite, with all taxes and fees included, and this deal was great for the room I got. My biggest issue with the room was its location on the second floor. As a result of some tall building right across a narrow street, I did not have much natural daylight in my room. But I did not mind it much, staying in this room just for one day. My Executive Suite (#204) was huge! Basically, its size was like a full 1-bedroom apartment! The Suite looked very basic, but it was ideally clean, and I felt absolutely comfortable staying there. Some furniture was not in the best condition, but mostly everything looked good enough. There was a little kitchen counter in my room, which was a plus. The King Bed in the bedroom was comfortable. The TV in the bedroom definitely needs to be replaced with a new modern one because it was too old and small. My Suite had two bathrooms, which was a very big plus. One bathroom was located right next to the room entrance. It was small and had only a sink and a toilet. The second bathroom was next to the bedroom. Its size was big, and it had a huge shower stall. Unfortunately, the bathroom amenities were of cheap quality and smelled just okay. Another minus I can mention was the front desk staff. Two ladies who were working the day of my check-in were not really friendly. One of them was actually very rude. I came to the hotel around 1 p.m. and asked for early check-in to my room, but the answer was very clear with some rude attitude - “NO.” I asked if they could ask housekeeping to prepare my room as a first priority since I was the only person in the lobby who wanted to check-in, but the answer was also - “NO, you have to wait until 4 p.m.” Anyway, about 40 minutes later, another nicer lady called me and told me that one room was ready for me. But her attitude was kind of weird, like she had just done me the biggest favor. In general, the hotel’s building is outdated, and you can clearly see that the hotel is old. The elevators were slow, by the way. The hotel’s location is good. It is very close to the Old Historic Part of Montreal, also close to the waterfront, and the distance is walkable if you need to go Downtown. The only issue was that there is nothing really right around the hotel like cafes, restaurants, and shops. I do not even remember a grocery store close by. Also, some areas close to the hotel are under construction. Finalizing my review, I can recommend this hotel for a stay in Montreal, especially if its price is reasonable like I paid. It is definitely a 3-star hotel, so do not have high expectations from it, even from an Executive Suite. But for a few days of stay, this hotel is a good option.
