Didn't intend to stay here, but here's what you need to know. If you're researching hotels at Montreal Airport (YUL), be aware that this is NOT the closest Doubletree. There are two. And like the previous reviewer, I boarded the wrong airport shuttle bus not realizing that this was the hotel I'd booked at. There are two airport DoubleTrees, one right at the airport and one whose name says it's at the airport but it's not!) This hotel DOES not have a regular airport shuttle pickup, although they did have a complimentary shuttle that you have to book from the hotel to the airport. So be very careful and don't make the mistake of boarding the shuttle bus you see at the airport without confirming which DoubleTree you're going to. The shuttle bus driver for the DoubleTree by Hilton Montreal Airport should be making an announcement to make sure passengers know where they're going. We rushed to get on the bus, and there was never an announcement. The Hotel Point Claire is perfectly fine if this is your intended destination. There's nothing to do around the area. It'll require an Uber or taxi to get to YUL if you don't have a car. We wound up at this hotel after our flight got canceled and other closer hotels weren't available. We got a comfortable night's sleep, had dinner and a drink, slept and then did breakfast the next morning. Ruby at the front desk was nice, quick and efficient checking us in. Room was comfortable. But sadly, we couldn't figure out how to shut off a fairly bright night light on the bathroom mirror. And the room bathroom has a "barn door" for a door, so your expectations for complete privacy in the bathroom may be diminished. (It's a horrible, horrible trend in hotel room design, especially for renovated properties. Not sure why architects, designers and hotel operators think this is a wise choice. Does your home have a sliding door on the primary bathroom?) We had a good experience at this hotel, even if we never intended to stay there. My key message is to make sure that you're choosing this hotel intentionally if you're staying at airport hotel!

“Skin deep upgrade to +50 year old hotel.”

This hotel was a holiday inn for ~50 years (my parents moved to this are in 1974 and it was there then). Hilton (Doubletree) bought it in the last 2 or 3 years (?) and did a light refresh. I travel A LOT, I’m on a two week trip now and most hotels (except this one) had a spot I could plug in my laptop at the desk and most had had a clock by the bed that had usb outlets and ac outlets easily available. This Doubletree – in order to plug in my CPAP I had to move the mattress to access an outlet. This Doubletree – the desk didn't have an outlet, the outlet down on the wall has the desk lamp and the tv plugged in it. So I have to use my extension cord with multiple outlets – in a hotel that was just refurbished?!? If they had used lamps that had an outlet on the base – problem solved. If they had the clock (like at Hilton Homewood Suites) with multiple outlets – problem solved. This sounds pretty picky - but any new hilton/marriot/IHG hotel has multiple power outlets by the bed & by the desk. What failed here & why hasn't it been fixed? I mentioned it to the desk clerk – her comment was “management has been told this, do you want to borrow an extension cord”. I did like (no sarcasm) the elevator listing that showed the floors with ice machines on them. If in the area I would consider staying there again as for me the location works well for me, as it did when it was a Holiday Inn.
