“Beautiful resort with great service”

We recently stayed at a stunning resort for a week, opting for the large suite which offered plenty of space and tasteful decor. The service throughout our stay was impeccable, characterized by the warm and welcoming staff. We enjoyed the extensive walking trails and well-maintained grounds, perfect for exploring in the cool May weather, which hovered between 55-60 degrees. Each morning, we were treated to a delightful breakfast buffet; although it lacked variety, the quality and quantity were impressive. The hotel itself was pristine and well-maintained, with efficient room service and appealing kids' meals. However, there were some drawbacks. The resort allows dogs in all rooms rather than specific areas or specific floors, which led to persistent barking and lingering odors—this was less than ideal for us as we are sensitive to smells and do not own pets. Additionally, none of the water features were operational, even on clear warm days, and surprisingly, the restaurants did not offer any soups, which would have been comforting in the chilly weather. The spa services were also prohibitively expensive. Despite these issues, the resort's charm is undeniable. I recommend visiting with some caution regarding these potential inconveniences.

Please give your guest services staff some sensitivity training about what mobility challenged people might need or appreciate. We booked a king room with optional request for accessible washroom. Apparently the accessible rooms only have queen beds, not king and since my husband recently had back surgery we opted to stay with king bed. Things went downhill from there. We got our room keys, and started walking, and walking, and walking. This is shoulder season, mid-week and they gave us a room that was the FARTHEST away from lobby and restaurants that you can possibly get. Similarly, in the restaurants the hostess would try to lead us to a remote table, not considering how difficult it might be to maneuver a walker around all the tables and chairs. Disappointed that we had to push for basic handicap consideration at such a beautiful resort.

I have been to this hotel many times and have always loved it. I still do like it but for what they charge they need to put some money into the rooms and facilities. I have been to this hotel many times and have always loved it. I still do like it but for what they charge they need to put some money into the rooms and facilities. Rooms are getting beat up, kids area in mount Kidd needs an over haul, waterslide/ pool area needs some attention and the outside areas surrounding the spa needs to be cleaned up. When they put you in a room that looks onto a bunch of junk and cut down trees it doesn’t make for the best view. Another thing I think needs to be changed immediately and have for years is that the lobby bar often doesn’t open until 4pm, forcing everyone to go to the one restaurant, the lobby bar is the best place and so convenient to stop for a quite bite or have the kids play games while you have some drinks. This should be open at noon the latest everyday. I hope they put some TLC into this place as I love the area, kid’s activities they have and spa but will not continue to book at luxury hotel prices if they don’t do some needed maintenance
