“Absolutely Fine”

Given previous reviews it was with some trepidation we arrived here for a two night stay in a rearranged itinerary following the fires in Jasper. For context we were booked in a two bedroom suite (room 324) which was vast for our needs so this may have influenced my assessment. That said: Was it clean: yes, no issues Was it well equipped: Absolutely, the washing and drying facilities in that room were an unexpected opportunity for some mid trip laundry! Was it noisy?: not particularly, our room wasn’t by the road where roadworks are underway and the highway noise was unobtrusive. Is it tired?: maybe a little, carpets in the(vast, un-ending) corridors are a bit worn and lumpy, some enamel flaking off the bath, some furniture marked. Did this affect my stay? No. Bed: firm but we like that so all good Staff: A little surly maybe, particularly having come from Banff, but nobody was deliberately obstructive or rude. Location: Canmore is a nice place, a bit more down to earth than Banff. The main town area is a short but not unpleasant walk from the hotel. So having come here expecting the worst we leave with a pretty positive view. I appreciate being allocated a different room could change opinion drastically though!

Pros: Able to check in at 4pm. The staff were very friendly. The view from our suite was amazing (of the Three Sisters), there was everything you'd need in the suite to make a meal if need be, there's an underground parkade, the waterpark was fun (waterslide, mini kids slide, in/outdoor hot tub), and the restaurant was quite good for breakfast. Cons: The overall resort was run down, the suite was in pretty rough shape, could have been cleaned a bit better too. The beds/pillows were incredibly uncomfortable (still have a sore back/neck). The worst part was the road noise from Hwy 1. We're not light sleepers & we couldn't fall asleep until after 2am. We probably wouldn't stay here again, unless there was nothing else available.

We booked this resort through Expedia as a package deal. Yes it is pricey and worked out to be around $500 a night for the three of us in a 1 bedroom. On checkin and throughout our 5 days there, the young lady behind the desk was in our honest opinion not at all fuzzy and warm but instead very sad looking who never cracked a smile and was very short in any questions we had about the resort. There was only 2 girls there during our stay and the one mentioned works the later shift. Anyhow moving on the hotel was clean, the kitchen was well eqipped, the bed was comfy and ac was cool. The only prob was the small shower in the units that leaked water all over the place if you were not super careful. Parking was a bit of a struggle in the underground spots they give you because most spots are reserved for owners of the units and not so much the rentals. We had dinner one night at the restaurant which was super good and breakfast one morning which was deliscious. Didnt use the pools or hot tubs so i cannot comment. Hallways needs updating as the lobby as well. Thats about it we still enjoyed it despite some negative things
