This was part of my works' 25th anniversary party. So, I didn't have to cover any of the bill. What a great room! I had room 143. First floor was a great floor to be on. Very fast easy access to get outside to the village. My sliding door allowed me access outside, and if I had someone to stay in the room, I could go around the corner to the general store. Equally fast was access to underground parking. I was around the wing that is behind store fronts and looking out over the entrance to the parking garage. So, not the best views, but that was quite alright. I was most impressed with the layout of the room, it was a very cool open concept "V" shaped room, with a large bathroom off the left side when entering. Fully stocked kitchen was very cool, I only used the toaster but there's everything you would possibly need to cook for yourself if you brought food; pots, pans, microwave, coffeemaker, dishwasher, plates, cutlery, dish soap. Again I only did use the toaster for my bagel on Sunday morning. The fridge was nice, but did have an odour that clung to my water bottles. Maybe they could toss some baking soda boxes in those?? My room had a really nice looking fireplace, I did not use it but it looked cool in the room. The only thing I noticed was a lot of door slamming, I thought it was neighbours at first, but then i realized my room also sides onto the rear of the general store, so it may have been employees loading supplies in. But, the fact I didn't need to use the elevator all the time and i could just walk outside to the village made up for a bit of door slamming. The village ground were a neat concept, everything pretty expensive but was still neat to browse around. I think I only shopped at the candy store for some Bob Ross mints. I ate out Friday night after driving up from work at the Irish Pub, great food and atmosphere there! Also, work booked the whole Axe Throwing place Friday night for us and that was exceptionally fun!! The work party on Saturday night was in the Blue Mountain Village Conference Centre. The building was okay, a touch dated/worn; mostly the light fixtures. And the food was just, okay. But we had a very enjoyable time there, as well!

“4 Women Enjoyed 2 Nights”

We had a 3 bedroom unit which was very nice. There were steps up to get to the small balcony but just looking out the window, was a very nice view of the mountainside. We had a 3 bedroom unit which was very nice. There were steps up to get to the small balcony but just looking out the window, was a very nice view of the mountainside. We enjoyed having lots of dishes in the kitchen and having two bathrooms. Beds were comfortable but rather high for us older gals to get up and into bed. The location was great in that we could easily walk over to the Village Shops, Restaurants and Adventure Park. We enjoyed the gondola ride up the mountain. The pool and hottubs were great at the Grand Georgian at Village Suites Resort.

I have not been to Blue Mountain for about 10 years and just spent five nights there with a group of 9 people. First the good; The village is beautiful. It is very well maintained with flowers and ambient lighting everywhere. There are lots of great options for dining and entertainment. There is live music every day and lots of activity all around. We ate at 6 different places, and all have beautiful outdoor patios and very small if any wait times. Most of the food was very good. Tholos was our favorite; Mother Tongue was not terrible but was the least. Prices were expensive but certainly not gouging as some resorts do. Our room in The Weider Lodge was nice and comfortable, and very conveniently located. There was only one elevator for the week as one was broken. They also had a day when the water was shut off for maintenance. Both moderate inconveniences, but stuff happens. Here is mine (and everyone in our groups) main complaint; There is almost no value added to this resort anymore for staying on grounds. Any activity that you want to do is at a cost and not a small one at that. In fact, I would say it crosses the line to being almost tacky how much they charge you. If you want to ride the gondola up the hill it is $27 a person a day. You can't just buy one ticket. Their private beach that they tout on their site is ridiculously expensive. It is $50 per day per room. So, if we wanted to go it would be $250 for a day? It is nice, but not that nice. For activity passes to do everything it was $37 a day per person. Again, not only is this not included in staying there, but you also don't even get any kind of discount. They also don't sell individual activity passes for anything. So, if you want to paddle one of the boats around the pond for an hour or just take the lift up once to see the views, you are paying the full amount. If you want to drive yourself up the mountain you can do that, but they charge you $10 to use the road. Again, I am not saying this should all be free but for people staying on grounds there should be some consideration. Just putting this out there and hope it helps as all of this could be very pricey for families thinking of going here.

My family and I stayed at the Grand Georgian hotel, part of the village suites at Blue Mountain resort. Overall, the rooms and hotel were beautiful. We had a one bedroom + den, which was very spacious for ourselves and our toddler. Full kitchen (oven/stove, full fridge, dishwasher), dining table, living room, 2 TVs, and a balcony. My biggest complaints were that we kept finding hair on the carpet that would stick our feet and legs. This was really upsetting to my 2 year old so we always made sure to keep her in socks/light pants--not ideal since it was June and warm outside, but we had AC so not the worst deal. The entire suite (aside from the bathroom) was carpeted and clearly needs a better vacuum to get the hairs out of the carpet threads. There were no crumbs or visible dirt so the staff ARE cleaning. But it was a big turnoff to find hairs all the time. Secondly, as this is firstly a ski resort--and fully carpeted rooms--there is a very faint odor of wet wood/wet ski jackets in the rooms and the halls. It was easier to forget and so mild, but definitely noticeable and a bit of a turnoff to be honest. The carpets could do with a deep clean I'm sure. You likely would never notice in the winter because after a day on the hills, your jackets would have the same smell. But outside of winter, this was off-putting. Our bedroom TV was pixelated or had difficulty loading most channels, but the living room one worked no problem. As we were travelling with a toddler, this was a bigger problem than expected at night since they were down earlier and we were effectively trapped in the room. The hotel and mountain was quiet since we went just before school let out, the staff were friendly, and overall, I felt the rooms were clean aside from the hair in the carpets. Staying in the village is super convenient and so beautiful, no matter what time of year. It's unfortunate and annoying that you can't book a particular hotel--you can put in a request, but you find out where you're staying when you arrive. After our experience at the Grand Georgian, I'd be nervous to come back. We might return for a different village suite hotel, but it's a lot of money to be pulling hair off your arm from the couch or from your ankles just walking around the room. Beautiful hotel, still had a great trip, but wish the rooms were better maintained.
