Attractive modern chalet esthetic with minimalist design features. Our family of four were comfortable in the two Queen bed room. All white bedding and comfortable mattresses. Safe and refrigerator provided but no microwave. Large refillable bottles of shampoo/conditioner and body wash provided. Be careful when dispensing the gel and conditioner as the shower floor easily becomes very slippery. The lowest setting on the room thermostat was only 73 degrees Fahrenheit which was not cool enough for me but my husband was very happy. Starbucks and restaurant available on main level. Parking was included with our stay. Quebec City is a 30 minute drive away. Parking lots or street parking cost a little under $20 CAD per day, payable only by card or Apple Pay. This hotel employs sustainable practices therefore pool towels are provided in your hotel room and asked to be re-used. My room did not include robes for traveling to and from pool areas. Although I did see some guests with robes. My children enjoyed the game room area although the billiard and ping pong tables are in need of updates and maintenance due to overuse. Staff were all very polite and provided support when needed. I chose this hotel because I wanted to be surrounded by nature, but perhaps will choose a hotel closer to the city next time because restaurant options are better in Quebec City in my opinion.

We stayed here for 4 nights as part of a summer rental car driving trip through the extreme South East of Canada (Toronto to Quebec). We arrived by rental car and parking was free on the extensive parking lot. We were greeted a bit unenthusiastically and assigned a room on the 5th or 6 floors which was initially a bit confusing as we booked a 'penthouse suite'. This turned out to be a 'maisonette' style (two interconnected adjacent floors) arrangement. The starirway from the lower to the upper level is not for the faint at heart but we aren't so its ok with us, The upper level is a bit less than half of the surface of the lower level, making the upper room half-open and like a balconly. There is a bedroom and a bathroom with shower and toilet up there. The lower level living room was spacious and had a fire place (which we didnt use as it was hot enough outside). The lower floor includes a full kitchen with hob, oven, fridge and dishwasher. The selection of glasses included 3 types of wine glasses (at least 4 each) but only 2 instances of a water glass (not 2 types, 2 glasses). After the somewhat uninspiring reception, we didn't bother to talk to staff again. The remaing bedroom on the ground floor is windowless and has a bathroom with bath tub and a toilet room with an european style (good!) washer/dryer. The room smelled faintly of smoke, it's not entirely clear if this was from the fireplace or previous occupants smoking. The view was of a power cable and a parking lot, a bit disappointing for a 'penthouse suite' (but to be fair, there was no view of the Eiffel tower :) promised). There is a quite a selection of pools, one inside, the others outside, a whirlpool/hot tub one and a "therapy" (also quite warm) among them. They were clean and well maintained. If your room is a bit away from the main elevator, going to the reception, going to the pool by going back to reception makes almost for a multi-day hike, so check for the smaller elevators (or: staircase!) that greatly shorten the trip to the pool. The hotel is adjacent (but it still was a bit of a walk to the lower gondola station) to the Sainte Anne Ski area which is used by mountain bikers in summer (we dont mountain bike, but these who did seemed to enjoy it) and also accessible to hikers. The view from the crest (after a short walk) was much more impressive than I thought, a great view of the St. Lawrence River with Ile d'Orleans and all the way to Quebec (in mist / fog in our case) was provided. We walked back down which was much more of a strain than this Alps-steeled (or not) hiker is willing to admit (advice: always, not just here, walk up not down). The whole place seems clearly oriented towards winter which may explain some of the less inspiring parts of the stay. We ate dinner, 3x2 courses which consisted of 5 uninspiring and one positively surprising (kimchi style cabbage, try it if you are there) ones. Breakfast was very much not to our liking, we both ordered from the menu and the buffet and found nothing we liked. This made us self-catering for all the following breakfasts (no problem due to the full kitchen) and one in-room self cooked dinner (which was excellent).

We arrived at 2:45 PM, when we said we would when we checked in online. Our room wasn’t ready because “they were busy over the holiday weekend”. This was a Tuesday. Danielle told us to sit in the lobby and she would tell us when our room was ready. At 3:15, I went to the desk because we’d noticed that 3 people checked in after us and all got their rooms. Anais checked and said our room was ready. When I complained that no one told us, she said she just got there. It was not true. She was there when we arrived and Danielle spoke to us. I told her Danielle told us she would let us know when our room was ready. She said she left 15 minutes ago. Why didn’t Danielle tell the other agents that guests in the lobby were waiting for their room? Why didn’t they inquire whether we needed anything as we were sitting in the lobby with all our luggage? How could Anais not have seen us standing 3 feet away from her speaking to Danielle? There was no apology or acknowledgement of their lack of communication. There were only excuses and lies. That’s unacceptable for a hotel in the Marriott brand. We tried to park near the area where our room was, which was all the way at the end of the hallway, but the parking lot was for owners only! It was empty. A lady in a T-shirt and a kid showed up at 6:45 PM and parked right next to our room in the owners only parking lot! By morning, there were 6 cars there, two of which looked beat up. If it’s staff parking, say so. It’s unacceptable to make your guests walk all around the building with their luggage when there is sufficient parking nearby. That’s another fail for Marriott brand! The coffee machine had some smelly white water in the filter area. I called the front desk and asked for a new one. I had to call a second time as one hour passed without a new machine. When I called the second time, they wanted to know what was wrong with our machine. I told them again. They sent someone up within a few minutes, who brought a new machine and I showed him the dirt in ours. Another ball dropped. The hotel itself is nice and clean. Our room was clean and spacious with all amenities. The hotel would have gotten 5 stars if the staff was on top of its game.
