With plenty of options to choose from in Banff, this hotel offered a good deal. Located about 10 minutes north of the main part of the town. Check in was fine and the hotel has two floors of rooms. Room was pretty much standard to what I have become used to on a 7 week Canada trip. Bed was comfortable and bathroom in good condition though there were stains on the inside of the bath. Pity about the use of tiny bottles of shampoo etc. Maybe I misread the labels, but there wasn't anything marked on them as 'shower gel' or 'body wash'. Would have course preferred seeing fixed dispensers by the sink and inside the bath. WiFi worked well. TV was fiddly to flick through the channels so much so, there was a basic instruction sheet printed out. And early hours of the morning on my second night, the TV just switched itself on. Possibly a power blip as the bedside digital clock reset too. Coffee making facilities were good with pods and small containers of cream as opposed to whitener. Breakfast was a bit disappointing. The room was far too small, crowded around where the food items were laid out and not really enough tables at 9am on one morning and just after 7am the other.

We stayed in room on the 3rd floor - we asked for a sunny room, we did not get , I booked 11 months ago. Screw stripped in the door where door catches, I used fingers to tighten. 1 of 2 screws missing from metal plate for plug in in bathroom. Bathroom fan is loud, but does not clear the steam from bathroom. When you book room online the picture looks like you are getting a bright and sunny room, however we found out that those are used for long stays, even though I did have 5 nights booked. Therefore we were booked in the back where you don't get sun and rooms are dark and dreary. The front entrance to the hotel is very dark and dreary too, need to invest in brighter light bulbs etc. it is not appealing when walking in, need bright white walls etc. Also the exhaust smell comes up from the garage to the 3rd floor. Not enough parking outside for people who have allergies and can not park underground. We used the lot offered by HONK next door the last night as we had no parking space on the street and it cost us $75.00 for overnight. Thank you HONK! Won't stay here again. Every other Best Western Property we stay at is much brighter and newer and lots of room to park outside. The food for breakfast was always great! All the Staff were very friendly! Banff is very beautiful, but this hotel needs renovating, good thing our rates were not high, these rooms are $500-900 a night during May to Oct
