Went with my friend for a quick few days trips because why not, and honestly, we’re so glad we stayed here. Place was awesome for exploring the around and temples. We spent the days sightseeing and the evenings relaxing in a beautiful place. The staff was amazing, super friendly and always ready to help. The food was really good, and the whole atmosphere made it the perfect spot to just explore My friend and I had great time, and it was the perfect for our short getaway as well had fun at their chic pool area. Definitely Recommended.

We stayed here as part of our honeymoon when travelling through Cambodia in December, it was an amazing stay and very relaxing which is exactly why we chose to book it! Thank you to the staff as well for the lovely room decorations and flowers for my wife. On checking into the hotel there was an issue with the package we had booked, after some confusion from the hotel staff and a bit of time it was all resolved and from then on they more than made up for the inconvenience caused - thank you! As far as I am aware we were the first to try the new half board package that is being introduced, for us it was a no brainer due to the tiny cost increase over a room at the time of booking. My only comment on that would be provide more than one option if doing a set menu as 2 of the 3 courses we were offered included fish which my wife is unable to eat, the restaurant staff were helpful and found alternatives but it was a bit awkward trying to get it changed and trying to explain etc when a veggie/alternative meat option would have made life easier for all. The outdoor pool area at the hotel is the best we found in Cambodia, the pool itself was spotlessly clean and very big, the sunbeds were well positioned and in a bigger area than most hotels in Siem Reap so you get sun all day with a bit of moving around in the late afternoon. We didn’t use the smaller pool, we did have a look at it but wanted sun! The breakfast buffet was decent with a good selection, and the made to order food from the menu was excellent. We ate at the Kroya restaurant one night which was fantastic, and a great experience! The pool side food in the day was good, but maybe not as good as other hotels we stayed at in the area - but that’s just being picky! The staff at the hotel were very attentive, and kind. We must give Angel and Sophy from the evening bar a shoutout, we used the bar for 2 nights and during both they were very chatty and provided great company (and drinks!) Baitong restaurant staff were all friendly too. Although the rooms by the outdoor pool are cheaper, we actually thought that part of the hotel was nicer and had a more relaxed feel. The spa was great too, my massage was a lot firmer than the other hotels we used but it was exactly what I needed. We actually only originally booked a 30 minute massage, but about 20 minutes in we extended to 60 mins as it was so good. If you want a firm massage ask for Vanook. Gym was small, but had enough to keep you ticking over. Dumbbells only up to 20kg though if that’s what you are after. We stayed in a number of hotels during our trip through Cambodia and I would say this hotel may seem more expensive than other hotels in the area that are also listed as 5* on paper, but in reality this hotel is like a European 5* whereas the others are well edited photos etc which can be a bit deceiving (we stayed in three 5* hotels in Siem Reap and this one was easily the most luxurious and worth the premium if you want a relaxing stress free stay. We had already done the day trips etc in the area, so just used the hotel to relax for a few days - the perfect hotel for that.

“Best Food in Cambodia, Luxurious and effortless Khmer adventure”

Shinta Mani was a spectacular way to experience Ankor Wat, with more than a touch of luxury. It's located in the heart of Siem Reap, but to be honest we spent most of our time at the hotel. The staff were all lovely, especially with our 11yo son - they remembered drink orders, were always attentive and helpful, always smiling. One reason we travelled to Cambodia was our love of food from the region (we love Vietnamese). Overall we had a hard time finding authentic Khmer food but the exception was the restaurant at Shinta Mani - the food was extraordinary. All of it based on Khmer traditional ingredients but elevated to a fine dining level. It was the highlight of our whole trip to the country, no joke. Be sure to eat at the restaurant multiple nights to try the full range. The Kampot pepper is amazing, and so much fresher than we can get back in Australia. Also, the international food was good too - and our son loved having a smash burger while my wife and I had Cambodian delicacies. Despite not being a natural morning person, the sunrise tour to Angkor Wat was so good... and clearly the right way to see the (truly epic) temple. The hotel had coffee and tea and breakfast boxes ready to go for our early start. The cool morning air made the climb up to the top of the temple a little bit easier, and it was nice avoiding the crowds. Even by 8am I could see the lines stretching out in the heat and it was well worth the early alarm, plus we were back before lunch for a meal of prawns, squid and fresh green pepper. After sweating through the temples, we spent the afternoon splashing in the (giant) pool in the courtyard. Frustratingly, most of the pools in Cambodia are only 1.2m which is a bit shallow to feel truly relaxed but this was the only one we found that's more like 1.4m - which for some reason is just so much more relaxing. My favourite temple actually wasn't Angkor Wat but the further flung Beng Mealea. If you have time to do 2 days of tour it's totally worth it. You need to spend an extra few hours in the car (return trip) but I liked the combination of epic temple being reclaimed by the jungle - plus the transfer arranged by the hotel was very comfortable. My husband felt it was the most comfortable bed of the whole trip - even better than the island resorts we went to in the south. The room was stunning, in hindsight I wish we'd booked an extra night and taken time to see the lake. Special thanks to our tour guide Sam, and our driver Sol and our butler Son - they took such good care of us, especially our boy. Sam's guide through the history of the Khmer kingdom made the tour so much more of a rich experience. Thank you Shinta Mani, we hope to see you again.
