A group of 7 of us visited the last week in may. The rooms are huge and kept spotless. Had an issue with the safe, and the shower. Told them as soon as we checked in, and both issues sorted within the hour. Towels changed in room every day. Th food was outstanding for all meals. So much variety and freshly cooked. Pool area lovely, and comfy sunbeds. Great location... 5 min walk to flower St or sea front. And to top it off, all they staff were so friendly and helpful (except some of the management, who openly berate staff in front of guests. Just because we don't speak bulgarian, doesn't mean it isn't obvious what you are doing). Highly, HIGHLY recommend this hotel.

Please read the whole review! Upon arrival my overwhelming sense was of disappointment. We’d booked two apartments which were situated in a block outside the main hotel. The hotel itself looked impressive from the outside but internally its grace is definitely on the wane. Everything felt tired in the bar and lobby area and the foyer of block C felt like the place would struggle to gain a two star. The maglock doors often didn’t work properly and the lift trapped some members of our party inside, nobody answered the emergency bell. The tiled floor in these lifts were also detached and broken and the apartments themselves were missing several advertised features such as minibar and kettle. When we asked reception staff to provide them we had a different response every time and it took two days to get our tea making facilities. There was also no cutlery or plates, the air con was also dismal and the it was a race to see who gave up clinging to the bathroom wall first- the wall paper, towel rail or wall lamps. Whilst the food was generally very good it was often cold. One afternoon the bar staff in the pool area all fell out and getting a drink challenging. Whilst the pools were impressive there were lots of detached tiles in there, it often became a source of amusement to see how many we could collect. However. What one has to remember is the cost of this stay. For all-inclusive it was a bargain. The food I mentioned whilst often cold was really good. The fresh salads, sea food, fruit and deserts were first rate. When the main meals were piping hot they too were excellent. Choice of drinks and pastries - can’t grumble at all! The main reception bar is well stocked though some staff weren’t sure how to make certain drinks, others seemed genuinely put out being asked to make drinks but all in all for all inclusive the choice too was good. The local whisky was pleasant even if the lager felt watered down. The hotel is based in an excellent and central location. The nearest water park is an easy walk and it’s simple to gain one’s bearings. The beach is a short walk as is all the nightlife. The pools are great too, despite the tile issue. Absolutely superb for cooling off in the glorious sunshine. The pool bar like the main bar was well stocked and provided a convenient location from pretty much wherever you were in the complex. The gym was decent and would cater for most needs and the indoor pool/ jacuzzi pleasant. The sports bar felt a little unnecessary but again was comfortable and felt more upmarket. The moral of this tale is not to expect four star and you won’t be disappointed. The price should have been a give away but so be it. Glorious weather, lots to eat and drink and a comfortable bed at the end of a day. I’m utterly mystified how the place can claim a five star rating in Bulgaria but it’s a decent middle of the road effort.

“Pool bar”

No food at pool bar only for all inclusive restaurant expensive when I just need small lunch like chips pitza should cater for everyone as small kids dont nerd big meals all inclusive seems to be priority in this place disapointed as. Had to go out. Of hotel for lunch

Enjoyed a week in Sunny Beach .Loved the resort and definitely be back . Stayed at the Royal Beach Barcelo All Inclusive. Safe broken and contained prev peoples tablets,shower rail collapsed,shower leaked. Hotel grounds lovely,great pools(but sharp broken tile edges ,Husband cut finger)but unfortunately also food let's the hotel down everyday was tepid/cold no matter the time of entry to restaurants. Food choices just not for us either I'm afraid . Overall a nice stay, great location but won't be returning to the Barcelo .
