I stayed at this hotel on 2 occasions in late September 2024. The hotel room was large, clean, smelled good and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was large with plenty of counter space by the sink. The room contained many amenities including a small refrigerator with drinks & snacks available for purchase, a safety deposit box, a blow dryer., flat screen TV with many English channels and good music video channels. The bed was comfortable, and I slept well. My room was located in the back of the building, so I didn’t hear a lot of street traffic noise and was able to sleep well. The room was modern and slightly outdated. It smelled fine but on occasions, other guests may have been smoking, even though the rooms are non-smoking, because there was a smell of faint cigarette smoke. However, the smell wasn’t strong, bad or consistent. The restaurant was also good. I had breakfast which was good and consisted of hot and cold options. Dinner at the restaurant was also very good. The staff was nice, helpful, professional, and accommodating. Overall, the staff was good. The restaurant looks old fashioned and outdated and has an old feeling with 60s, 70s and 80s American music. However, the food was good, and the music was nostalgic and actually good Initially, the atmosphere of the restaurant was not very appealing, however, the professional, accommodating and attentive staff and the good food made up for the atmosphere. It was very convenient to have a restaurant on the premises, especially after doing tours all day and feeling exhausted at night. I was appreciative of and enjoyed the restaurant. The hotel is in a convenient location that is close to public transportation and sightseeing places. The Serdica metro station is located near the hotel and within a short walking distance from the hotel. Many museums, churches, galleries and other places of interest are also located within walking distance from the hotel. I recommend the Central Hotel Sofia and would definitely stay there again.

The hotel has a great location with walking distance to the main sights, as well as to the pedestrian street Vitosha Boulevard with its shops and restaurants. The room was clean, there was a great shower, but I had some problems with small black bugs in the bathroom the third night (I stayed for four nights). The bugs were only a few, but anyway. I told the reception about it and they sent a cleaner, but there were a few bugs the next night. I don't want to make a big issue of this, but it is not nice to have ”unexpected guests” at night. Without this problem I should give the hotel 5 stars, now only 4 stars.Staff were all pleasant, helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet had a great selection. I appreciated that I could change euros to levas at the hotel.

Stayed at Central Hotel Sofia for 4 nights in October. The stay overall was good, but the hotel is dated and basic. The best thing about the hotel is the location, all the main sights in Sofia are walkable from the hotel and it is also based very close to the metro which has the line which goes to the airport. There is also a fantastic bakery nearby called 'Furna' which sold the most delicious banitsa (very cheap and saves having to pay for the breakfast at the hotel). The room could do with a nice upgrade as it did feel like stepping back in time with the dated furniture and decor. The room we had also had a connecting door which meant we could hear every movement and conversation of the people next to us. The beds weren't very comfy, but did the trick. We had no hand soap in the bathroom as the soap dispenser seemed to have been pulled off the wall and the shower door did not close. I don't want to sound too negative, as overall it was fine for what we needed and we weren't in the room for long as we were out exploring and on day trips. I have read some of the other reviews saying the staff are not friendly or helpful, but all the staff we met were very polite. Overall, if you are looking for something basic as a base with a good location - if the price is right I would recommend.

A hotel with spacious and clean rooms, excellent food, but the customer service is really lacking. We booked 3 rooms of 3, under the same booking, and we asked for the rooms to be close and we received a reply from the hotel that they would try to fulfill the request. When we arrived at the hotel even before going up to the room, we were told that the rooms are on different floors and that there is no option for adjoining rooms at all because there is only one room for three on each floor. If it is something that was known in advance as impossible, why promise? In addition, they said even before we went upstairs that we didn't order a baby bed and therefore they didn't prepare it in advance, and if we wanted they could bring us the bed and we would assemble it ourselves. We showed them what we asked for, and when we went up to the room we found an a baby bed ready in two out of three rooms! That is, admissions representatives give incorrect information. Keys issue- the hotel gives just one key for each room! And it is not possible to get another one. If two people wanted to leave the room for different entertainments, they had to coordinate when to come back so as not to get stuck without a key. Food - very varied, tasty, excellent coffee machine. Here too, one of our family members was told that we didn't pay for breakfast, after the dining worker went to check it with the receptionist he said it was a mistake. Shower - very spacious, good toiletries, there is a good hair dryer. The location is very central. If you don't need the service representatives - the hotel is excellent. The guy who helps with the luggage is the only nice guy in this hotel.
