Chose this hotel as I wanted a short, cheapish getaway. The hotel is located right on the beach with the dining area and bar over looking the sea. Really nice to sit outside and hear the waves. The beach itself was quiet so plenty of space to enjoy. The room was clean and tidy, if you don't get a sea view then you do get the view of the old mountains. There were one or two channels in English on TV. Wifi worked excellently no matter where you were in the hotel. Food and drinks were fine. Obzor is a quiet town plenty of shops still but still quiet. If you are just looking for a beach holiday then this will be perfect but if you tend to explore more then you may find this a little out the way with Nessebar being about 45 minutes to the south and Varna similar distance to the north. All in all good value for money.

Stayed here for a week the last week in May, the hotel itself is in a great location on the beach and literally 8 to 10 minutes walk into the centre of Obzor. Still very early in the season so lots of places still not open and lots preparing to open. The food at the hotel was nice but a little repetitive and the beers and spirits very low quality, the lager on draft was 2% at best, that said the hotel is kept very clean and the pool bar was nice. I would return to Obzor and the hotel Helios beach but next time a little later in the season.

“Great 1st time in Bulgaria”

My Wife and I stayed at the Helios Beach for 2wks at the end of June/early July. From the moment we arrived we felt relaxed.The location is perfect. Literally on the beach! Check in was quick. Our room was on the ground floor in Block A. The hotel is split between 2 buildings but it isn't a huge complex so it's not like you're far away from anything. The only problem with the hotel is it has no lifts and the main restaurant is on the 1st floor so you have a flight of stairs. This isn't an issue unless you have mobility issues. We had room A114,sea view overlooking the garden area,with the pool in view but not close enough to be an issue. The room was a fair size. It had a balcony with room to sit&relax and dry your clothes. The room had a small fridge,good air conditioning and the most comfortable beds i've slept in for a very long time. The shower room had plenty of room but the shower had no door which was unusual so the floor did get quite wet. Use the floor towel to stand on as its slippery. The charge for the safety deposit box was 65 Lev for the 2wks. The room maids were very good and start early. You won't go hungry or thirsty during your stay. Breakfast is 7.30 to 10.00,Lunch 12.00 to 14.30,Evening Meal 18.30 to 21.00. Their is also a snack buffet from 11.00 to 17.00 in the main bar/entertainment room. Their is also a Bulgarian restaurant in Block A. The main bar is open from 11.00 to 00.00,the Lobby Bar 20.00 to 23.00 and the pool bar 10.00 to 17.00. The pool bar has a small seating area and is also 'swim up' Be careful when using the steps they do get wet and slippery. The food is quite varied and tasty for a 3* AI with plenty of choice. Can be a bit repetative but chop and change, and it doesn't have to be a problem. Only small moan is the reliance on fries being the only potato option on several occasions. Loved eating meals on the outside balcony looking out over the Black Sea. A big shoutout to the entertainment team of Sven,Justine,Vicky and Katy who work hard and did their best to entertain the kids&the adults. From a daytime activity program, themed afternoons for the kids on Wednesdays, kids movies,activities,discos in the evenings then quizzes,and shows most nights and external acts once or twice a week. The hotel staff work long hard hours but nothing was too much trouble. From the 24hr reception team,bar staff,maintainence team,cleaners and the hotels management. The hotel wifi is pretty good,very strong in the reception,lobby and main entertaiment/bar. It is also available in rooms,but does drop out in block A. There is a shop on site that sells snacks,water and a few toiletries. There is a supermarket 10min walk away. Just be careful the pavements are a bit uneven,don't do what I did and go pavement diving. . IT HURTS. We had a great holiday and will quite probably return 1 day. “Great hotel! Shame about reception staff!”

I would have loved to have given this hotel a 5* review. It was a beautiful hotel with amazing sea view rooms, a fantastic all inclusive package with Thomson and it was right on the beach. I would have loved to have given this hotel a 5* review. It was a beautiful hotel with amazing sea view rooms, a fantastic all inclusive package with Thomson and it was right on the beach. What more could you ask for a girls holiday? Bar staff, Hotel reps and entertainment staff were all fantastic.... The same cannot be said about the reception staff! I work in a hotel myself and I know how important customer service and care is, and this Hotel's reception staff couldn't give a care in the world about their guests. We were put through hell on our second night when a member of staff showed up at our room at 10pm with three members of their security for a tiny little noise complaint. Our room was occupied by myself and one other, female, friend. We were very intimidated by the security and felt it was unnecessary for that amount of men showing up and squaring up to me at the door.... I actually thought at one point they were going to force themselves into the room! When facing the Reception manager the next morning about this issue, she simply walked away from the problem and let the member of staff, who showed up at our room at 10pm, to roll his eyes at us and argue with us, no apology given regarding the security staff showing up. We completely understood and took into consideration the noise that was being made and we apologised, but after this complication the reception staff were rude and made us feel like children when going to our rooms. We had more fun going out in the town that staying in the hotel to take abuse! When we arrived at the hotel on our first day we decided to ask for a late checkout as our flight wasn't until 2pm the following week. This was fine and the receptionist made a note and we were promised that we would be able to keep one of our rooms we already had, we just had to come back the day before checkout to see which room we could keep. We did as instructed, but again were faced with the same member of staff who showed up at our room about the noise complaint, and were told we were not allowed to keep a room! We told him that the staff member we were greeted by took note, he refused to check and continued to tell us that we were not allowed. When we spotted another member of staff on the desk we asked them, and she said that we could have one of our rooms until the coach came to pick us up, no problem! Was really frustrating that one member of the reception just felt the need to go on a power trip and make our hotel stay and tad on the awkward side. Wish i had gotten his name, however he didn't seem to wear a name badge, hotel policy is it not? To all the members of staff, apart from reception and security, We would love to thank you for making the rest of our stay entertaining and being so lovely, especially the bar staff who gave us a good laugh and provided great entertainment and banter. I would recommend the hotel, but i would not stay again myself as i found the reception staff embarrassing! If people at my hotel worked and treated people like that they would not be working in my hotel much longer!
