“Good cost x benefit”

This is an old fashioned flat in the middle of Itaim neighborhood. Big room with kitchen, working space, several wardrobes and a tiny bathroom. Good night sleep. Very nice pool, gym and sauna. Average breakfast.

We stayed here 2 months (July - Sept.) while finding a permanent apartment in Sao Paulo. The apartment, pool, and fitness room were all acceptable but the real asset of this hotel is the staff. The staff go out of their way to make you feel at home. Most of the front desk staff speak English fairly well which was very important to us considering the length of stay and it being an international relocation. I cannot say enough good things about the people who work here! They are excellent! Also, the location in the Itaim Bibi neighborhood (one of the nicest in the city) is great with many restaurants and stores outside your door. We felt safe walking around day and night in the area.

Rooms are clean and no-frills but the beds are excellent. Service is very friendly. They go out of their way to make you feel at home. There is a taxi stand right out front, and a convenience store a block away (a good thing, because the hotel´s in-room snacks and drinks are awfully expensive). This is right in the middle of the Itaim region so there are at least ten good restaurants within walking distance (including the excellent but expensive La Vecchia Cucina, right inside the building). There´s parking included in the room fee. Breakfast is excellent.

I didn’t like this property. It feels outdated and strange. There was a loud window A/C unit in the bedroom as the only source of climate control. Half of the bedroom window only had metal shingles, no actual window to close, so the noise from the street was extremely loud. The sliding door to the balcony had no way to lock, which did not provide security. The unit itself was spacious and seemed mostly clean (although quite worn), and the living area and kitchenette areas were nice to have. The bathroom was very small, and the shower was even smaller. The morning breakfast at this hotel was the worst I have had in Sao Paulo. The pool area looked ok (I did not swim), the exercise room was well furnished, and the basketball court was in poor condition. The staff at the hotel was consistently warm, friendly, and helpful. I will try a different property the next time I’m in the area. Taking into consideration the pros and cons I give the hotel an average rating.
