At first glance, the hotel is beautiful. The grounds are landscaped and the gentle path up the hill through a covered wooden colonnade is warm and inviting. The room I stayed in was large, clean and comfortable. The bath was very nice. But there was no easy chair to sit in and relax, nor was there anything to sit on out on the spacious balcony. For the winter months, when it can get quite cool in Florianopolis (in the lower 50s F during the day), you'll notice the absence of heat. There is no in-house laundry, so plan ahead to walk down the street to wash your own clothes or ask the desk to call for a service (weekdays only, next day return). The restaurant is good enough, but there are better places to eat in the city. The wifi signal was weak in my room. The hotel is walking distance from a couple of small grocery stores, a good bakery, and several restaurants. It's also convenient to the university.

“Charming place”

The hotel is located close to the UFSC (Federal University). The room were simple but good. The breakfast is resonable and the price is fair. There are some restaurants near the hotel and the hotel offer room service (from monday to saturday) from 3 p.m. until 11 p.m.

I stayed here for 4 nights on a business trip. It's a pretty place, a pousada rather than a hotel, with buildings quite spread out over nice grounds. The rooms are large, but odd. Mine had a counter (for a desk) the length of the room and neck high when I sat in the one chair. I could use it only by folding my blanked over 3 times and using it as a set cushion. There are also no lamps by the bedside, so one can read in bed, with difficulty, only by the distant overhead light. Bathroom adequate but small. Smallest hotel bars of soap I've every seen, but they dispense them liberally. Internet worked, and there was a small refrigerator. The breakfast is very good.
