It was a very pleasant stay, with a few shortcomings. Here's a breakdown: The lows: the bungalows were a bit dated and lacking maintenance on the furniture and interiors - some investment is needed on this regard. The restaurant food was good but limited in options for lunch and dinner, and lacking traditional Brazilian food (for example, beans and rice, "farofa" and similar - all missing). Cleaning / Tidying crew could be more efficient. The highs: staff from reception and from the restaurant (all of them) were very nice - they made us feel really welcome and rendered an amazing stay. We spent Christmas and the supper was amazing in variety, quality and the whole feeling was great - thanks to the staff! Bungalows were good in space and furniture (but see above), the pool and surroundings while limited were very pleasant and well maintained. Breakfast was very good in variety and quality and, as always, service. Overall it was a great stay; thanks again to all staff from front desk and restaurant (Emanuele, Felipe, Aldo, Federico - sorry for not retaining the names of you all, but wanted to thank you all for the lovely time we spent in Varandas!

“Pleasant surprise”

The Hotel is very nice. Rooms are spacious and well cleaned. Breakfast is good. Apart from the usual (bread, cakes, fruits, coffee, milk, tea, juices) you could order different kind of cooked eggs and "tapiocas", which is a brazilian speciality. The Hotel is very nice. Rooms are spacious and well cleaned. Breakfast is good. Apart from the usual (bread, cakes, fruits, coffee, milk, tea, juices) you could order different kind of cooked eggs and "tapiocas", which is a brazilian speciality. Staff is very nice, excepting the driver of the van. The Hotel have a free transfer service scheduled that can take you to the center of the village or to the beaches. Even if sometimes you miss it, it's about a 10 minute walk to the center of the village. You'll find some cocks and chickens walking around the garden. Don't forget to take a buggy ride.

Varandas was highly recommended to me and my fiancée by friends who were there years ago. Not only for the view, but due to their great service. However, even though the view was terrific - you can see all the blue waters of Baía dos Golfinhos from the bedroom and living room, we didn't receive that special service and all the comfort we were hoping for. Room was quite comfortable and good size. Very good cable TV. The house has a small kitchen, although there was no tableware or kitchenware at all. Our room had two twin beds put together with twin sheets, I had to request the double bed sheets every day since the maids didn't remember our preference each time they cleaned the room even though I've warned the reception desk. We tried changing houses for one with a proper double bed, but the new one had a leaking and week shower, TV not working, so we decided to stay in the first one. Breakfast buffet was OK. Fruits were amazing and some side orders such as omellets, grilled cheese and "tapiocas" were very good also. Despite that, 3 varieties of bread, 2 juices, 1 jam, 1 cake, cheese, ham, salami. Regarding Brazillian standards in a hotel like that we were expecting more variety and items. Room service was a little bit confusing but good. Employees are polite and gentle, manager not so much. The hotel is far from the center (meaning is not walking distance). They have transportation to the city and 2 beaches. Overall, I think the hotel can be good for familes and big groups - houses with 2 bedrooms are useful. As for me, traveling with my fiancée, next time I would probably stay in a hotel or pousada closer to Pipa's center. For us, staying far from the center must be really worthy - and we thought this hotel was just average. Pipa by the way is WONDERFUL.
