“Stunning Beach!”

I was looking for a place to spend New Year`s Eve, and I found this place. The hotel is on the beach, in one of the most singular places I ever been. The staff at the hotel is fantastic, always making your wishes come true. I am still delighted.

We'd been travelling down the coast looking for a perfect Brazilian beach to relax on for a few days and stumbled across Taipú do Fora. Walking down the beach were immediately drawn to their fantastic location and the manicured gardens that ran right down to the beach. Once we'd had a look round the hotel, we decided to check in. We had a great 5 days relaxing at the Posada. A stunning snorkeling area is just a few minutes walk down the beach, perfect at low tide for seeing lots of coral fish. The garden is filled with smart lounging beds and chairs under the shade of coconut trees, and is right on beach. It is definitely a place to de stress and unwind. There is quite a few things to do in the surrounding area but we found it hard to leave the beach and gardens. Our children loved feeding the huge fish in the pond just outside reception. The hotel has a very boutique feel about it with comfortable sitting areas filled with interesting artistic objects. The complementary afternoon tea was a nice touch too. The staff we exceptionally welcoming and friendly, which gave the place a nice feeling. Our room had a lovely seating area with a hammock that went straight onto the gardens. For the four of us they made up the sitting area into two beds for the children but it didn't feel cramped as the room was so large.

“The place is a paradise. The people are wonderful!”

“A "4 out of 5" in comparison to Brasilian Pousadas...”

Bahia is known for its' beaches, so after having now stayed at the 3rd pousada on our 10-day Bahia "road trip", I can tell you that when you get here... you'll be excited about the proximity of the rooms to the water. This pousada is "on the beach", but with a large green lawned area, complete with lawn chairs, recliners "and beds!" It's like out of a Corona Beer commercial.....! The on-premisis restaurant gets 4 stars for its' adequate "cafe' da manha"........ but gets very low scores for its' dinner service off the menu. We were a family group of 7 adults, and from the fish to my picanha... it was both under-whelming and frustrating. I ordered my meat "mal pasado" (rare), and it came to me "bem pasado"..... well done! They refired two more filets, but after waiting nearly 20 minutes, I'd exhausted my rice, beans, farofa and vinegrette. And I wasn't as hungry for the meat any more. The server just wasn't comfortable, and I doubt he was a trained server. It's very "typical disappointing hotel food." Saturdays they have pizza buffet, but we passed, as we had a stupendous late lunch down the beach a-ways. The hotel staff is extremely polite and helpful. If it weren't for the restaurant food, (not so much the service), I'd still give them a 4 star review, but would have felt better overall. We stayed Sept 6th and 7th... Friday and Saturday night, and my wife and I paid approximately R$ 325 (about $150US right now), for a "senior double" room..... No. 02, downstairs, facing the lawn/beach area. (rooms facing the beach are well worth it.) I asked for and got a 15% Senior discount! Brasilian hotels, and other vendors, do give discounts for Seniors... so just ask. (that's if you can remember......?!! :-) They have a small lake on their property, and the fish are "huge"......... averaging 35 lbs. It's less fishing and more throwing out a 5 inch hook and tying your line to a tree! When they bite, it's like a shark attack! Really cool.
