“Holidays in Foz ”

Nice quaint hotel. Surroundings are beautiful. Staff very helpful. Needs some modernization but overall it was a great experience Take care about power plugs, they don't fit many apparatus. Reception was quite helpful to supply an adapter

We stayed at the resort while visiting Iguazu Falls during our recent trip to Brazil. The resort is old and in real need of some major updating to the rooms. We were disappointed with the rooms and housekeeping. The resort is aimed for families with younger children; and, not for adults trying to enjoy some down time from sightseeing. It is also not geared towards International travellers ( nothing wrong with that at all). The restaurants and lounges were very good. The only issue was having young children running around or misbehaving from opening to closing; consequently, a couple or a group of adults cannot enjoy a quite dinner. The buffet dinners appeared to be great with a large selection of different dishes, salads and desserts. A little pricey but that’s what you have pay at resorts. We weren’t too hungry so we chose the a la carte menu, which also provided a good variety of dishes to choose from. Service was fine, but the staff do not speak or understand English. The Vezzoro - Italian Restaurant was wonderful with white linen table clothes, a great menu ( including Pizza), and not a bad wine list. We received really good service fro Leandro, who spoke some English and understood our requirements. Again, for a restaurant like this having young children running around or crying/shouting was very disappointing, and spoilt the ambiance. We are foreigners and have to accept the local traditions. The front desk staff and bell hops were were very friendly and helpful. Jaino and Allan helped us out with issues with our initial room. I wouldn’t recommend this resort for International travellers wanting a nice relaxing time.

We've gone to the Falls about 15 times and in 13 of them we stayed here (and would've been 15/15 if it wasn't for circumstances out of our hands). I've known this hotel since I was 6 and now I'm 28 and I swear I had never had reasons to complain. Always flawless. Always an experience you could only speak positively of. But there's always a first time, I guess. Starting with the good parts, room was spacious (we booked contiguous rooms so it felt like a suite), the amenities were top notch, the remodelling of spaces (switching the pool bar for the kids space - that wasn't there before the pandemic) etc; bless the footsnooker area and wellness. Everyone had sth to do. However, I believe it's important to point out these somewhat minor issues in order to keep them minor and not letting them grow into major problems. 1. I don't know if the Italian restaurant is a third party renting the place but Trattoria de Carinola was miles ahead of Vezzoso. Not complaining about the service but the menu was different, pizzas were bigger and there was more variety overall+fresh charcruterie and cheese for starters. 2. And perhaps the 'worst': during a night in which I wanted to have ice cream, went to the bar and didn't get noticed after 10 mins when a seemingly grumpy (ok, he gets a pass for being a rough day perhaps) waiter handed me the menu and walked away before I could order (I didn't need to look, I knew what I wanted), then after another 10ish mins the cashier came herself to take our order and another half an hour later they were still yet to bring the ice cream! A *regular* ice cream it wasn't even artisanal banana split etc. Anyway, that kind of broke my heart a bit. 3 (this is getting long I know) this was perhaps on us but they didn't refill the Bourbon coffee with 20 mins to go of breakfast time which is a shame bc their coffee is GOD TIER. I wanted a second cup but had to use the espresso machine which I believe and as I tried it's NOT Bourbon coffee and if it is, the machine butchers it completely and it was so terrible I left the cup untouched. Love you, Bourbon. You're like fam. But I needed to type this out.
