I stayed in this hotel for my business trip and it has been a surprise. Wonderful room, intercontinental breakfast, kindness of personnell. Anything to add. It is very close to the center of Gand and in a few minutes you can visit the major attraction of Gand, like Castle etc. If you have time, visit Gand and spend at least one night in this hotel.

“Rom 55, good but not for light sleepers”

Outstanding welcome from the lady at the reception who spoke Spanish to us. Friendly and helpful. How not to feel welcomed there. Outstanding welcome from the lady at the reception who spoke Spanish to us. Friendly and helpful. How not to feel welcomed there. The location of the hotel is prime, close enough to go back and take a break. The bedroom was, modern, very clean, floors are wood which I prefer than carpet. The barroom seems newly modernized, good shower that doesn’t leak outside, the room has good lighting, beds were clean and comfortable. The windows could be open to get the air flowing as there is no air condition, not that we needed AC it in October but good to keep that in mind. We did need fresh air but comes with the cost of hearing trash picking busses and delivery trucks from very early on. My son and I are not light sleepers and can quickly fall asleep but I can totally see that if my partner would have joined us he would have struggle with the noise. We didn’t try the hotel breakfast but had brunch in Et Alers which is very closed and the food there didn’t disappoint not the ambiance. Worth trying those buckwheet pancakes Belgian style. .

“Luck of the draw with room allocation. 👎🏻 Never again”

❌ Rooms - For our 6 night stay we were allocated a room at the back of hotel in the annexe building. Due to musty smell and generally being dark and pokey with view of fire escape asked for another room. Room 55 was brighter and fresher however tired and in need of attention. ❌ Rooms - For our 6 night stay we were allocated a room at the back of hotel in the annexe building. Due to musty smell and generally being dark and pokey with view of fire escape asked for another room. Room 55 was brighter and fresher however tired and in need of attention. Wardrobe sliding doors constantly jammed. Fan filthy, mosquito net only on 1 window. Powdered milk. No information in room as removed during COVID. ❌ Noise - from bins on cobbled streets being prepped for collection, and then again after emptied by wagon, bottles being disposed, bins then being cleaned by a karcher was regular between 1am till 7am. ❌ Parking €22 per day. NOTE : 14 min drive to the car park at rear of hotel from the front entrance due to Zone Emission blah blah blah nonsense. That’s right 14 mins as per sat nav revealed after payment taken and checked in. Flabbergasted. ❌ Staff - no continuity of knowledge or service. Again luck of the draw if helpful or rude or let’s just say interested in their guests. Argumentative on occasion. ✅ Location ✅Housekeeper was kind courteous and pleasant. ✅ Vincent the manager upon his return from vacation relocated and upgraded us to another hotel in the group in Ghent after requesting a meeting to discuss lack of sleep and ongoing reported problems unresolved.
