The Hotel Tirolerhof is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. The Family Posch ensure that every guest is made to feel very welcome. They obviously take great pride in their hotel as it is has been constantly improved and well maintained over the years that we have been visiting. The food is excellent and our area of the restaurant was well managed by Emil. Don't miss this hotel as it is a joy to visit and well placed in Zell Am See for all the amenities.

“The best ever and worth a visit”

I spent a week at this hotel and to say it was the best hotel I have ever stayed in is an understatement. The reception staff on arrival were so friendly and welcoming right from the start and produced a welcome glass of bubbly after our flight over. We had a junior suite which was so spacious clean and well appointed. The balcony looked over towards the mountains and overlooked the gardens. The cleaners kept the suite immaculate and every night turned down the beds and left us our weather forecast for the next day. The food in the restaurant from breakfast to snacks to dinner was so well presented and tasted beautiful at every meal. We were on full board. All the dinners could only be described as fine dining. Again the dining staff were so helpful and friendly. The bar area and lounge was very welcoming warm friendly and comfortable. The spa and swimming pool were very good. Sauna area and rest areas were well kept and always well stocked with fresh drinking water and nibbles No one could fault this hotel and in my opinion it was just perfect in every way. This hotel obviously carries out maintenance frequently as nothing is ever found broken or not working. One thing you have to remember is in Austria they don't have tea and coffee facilities in your room which I always find a bit strange Definitely recommend this to everyone without hesitation I will be back at some point I am quite sure. This is our second visit to this hotel which tells you it's that good

“Superb Family run Hotel”

This was our 5th visit to this superb family run hotel. A few minutes stroll from the lake at the base of the Schmittenhohe mountain. This was our 5th visit to this superb family run hotel. A few minutes stroll from the lake at the base of the Schmittenhohe mountain. Friendly and magnificent in its presentation with outstanding food and service. The free bus services to the cable car Bahn and to Kaprun for the wonderful 3k connection to Kitzsteinhorn, highest point in Salzburg region is a breeze. We have always driven from the UK and have had a parking space in the garage. We took the train to Salzburg for the day, at only €19 return per couple it's a really worthwhile and picturesque journey. You will not feel more comfortable anywhere else in the world than the Tirelerhof.

Unfortunately, we are unable to pay the high compliments that other reviewers of this hotel have done. Initially, on arrival, we were very impressed, despite having a challenging time finding somewhere to park our car. Reception staff were pleasant and helpful, and, like other guests, we were given a glass of sparkling wine on arrival. But the sparkle quickly ended when we were shown our room. This was in the modern extension, a considerable walk from reception through the original part of the hotel. When we entered the room, it was cold and smelt strongly of damp. We tried to increase the temperature on the electronic thermostat, but nothing happened. We then tried the heated radiator in the ensuite bathroom, which was also stone cold. Prior to our arrival, we were aware that the area had suffered from the heavy rain and low temperatures featured on UK TV. We went down to reception who tried to assist, but the lady returned to our room with us and couldn't get the heating to work either. She showed us to the room next door which, as in the first room, was cold and smelt strongly of damp. We asked if we could pay the difference to upgrade to a bigger room in the main part of the hotel, but this was even colder and smelt more strongly of damp than the first two. The manager was then called, when we advised that we couldn't stay in any of the rooms and requested a full refund. The manager advised that the heating wasn't turned on until the winter, so that in September, that was how the rooms were provided, and he refused to refund our money. The reservation had been made through Booking.com who also advised that they were unable to assist us in receiving a refund. We still moved out as there was no way in which we could have remained in such cold and damp rooms, and cannot, therefore, in any way, recommend this hotel. The manager refused to accept that the weather had been unseasonably cold and wet, and was probably the most unhelpful and unsympathetic hotel manager we've ever had the misfortune to meet. Neither will we use Booking.com again.
