Good hotel located quite centrally and close to the subway, which can take you around the city. I had booked a superior room, but it was only slightly larger than the standard rooms and cost a bit more, so I wouldn't recommend it as there wasn't much of a difference. Good breakfast! The staff could be friendlier. Specifically, an Asian lady who works in the bar; I asked for a fork and she almost sighed and came forward to shout, "HERE IN THE MIDDLE." Unnecessary attitude that lowers one's impression of the hotel. Otherwise, good rooms that are quiet, comfortable beds, and an OK shower. Maybe it's time for a refresh, at least in room 332. Recommended for shorter stays in the city.

Location: The Renaissance Wien Hotel boasts a convenient location, just a 20-minute walk from the famous shopping street. It's also very close to public transport options, such as the subway, making it easy to explore the city. Check-In and Room Experience: I stayed for one night and encountered a few issues that could be improved. As a Marriott Gold Elite member, I expected a smooth check-in process. However, upon arrival at around 11:00 AM, my check-in experience was notably poor. The reception staff were curt and unwelcoming, failing to verify my reservation or status and offering no alternatives for comfort while I waited for the official check-in time. Upon securing my luggage with a trainee, I left the premises and returned at 3:00 PM. The reception experience was markedly different, with another staff member, Predrag, who apologized and kindly offered a complimentary drink. Despite this, the initial interaction left a lasting impression. In the room, the minibar was empty, and there was no shoehorn, slippers, or bathrobe provided, which are amenities I typically expect at a hotel of this caliber. Room Condition: The room was clean and nice, with no noticeable problems. Sleep Quality: The pillows and bed were comfortable enough for a good night's sleep. However, ongoing construction near the hotel disturbed my sleep quality. Additionally, during an afternoon power nap attempt, the loud housekeeping cart with bottle noise was disruptive. Room Amenities: The room lacked an espresso machine, offering only instant coffee, which was a bit disappointing for a coffee enthusiast. The provided toiletries were fixed on the wall, and the brand used was Tokyo Milk. While the quality was satisfactory, the fixed dispensers can sometimes feel less luxurious than individual bottles. Housekeeping: Throughout my stay, I observed the housekeeping cart left unattended in the hallway near my room. While I understand this may be during housekeeping hours, it can give a cluttered appearance and might not be the best first impression for guests. Service Quality: The service was average, with limited employees displaying a smiley demeanor. This could be cultural, but it impacted the overall warmth of the hospitality. Breakfast: The breakfast buffet provided a good variety of options, meeting European standards. There was enough choice to satisfy different tastes and dietary preferences. Internet: The internet speed was quite good, with speeds around 50 Mbps, which was sufficient for both work and leisure browsing. Value for Money: Considering the overall experience, I do not feel the hotel offered good value for money. The initial bad check-in experience cast a shadow over the rest of my stay. Security: I felt secure throughout my stay at the hotel. Local Tips: For dining options, guests might need to take a cab or Uber, as there are no notable nearby restaurants. If the weather is good, a 20-minute walk can also lead to nice dining options. Overall Impression: The Renaissance Wien Hotel has a lot of potential given its prime location and good breakfast offerings. However, attention to detail in room amenities, housekeeping management, and check-in experience could enhance the guest experience. With a few improvements, this hotel could easily match the high standards expected from the Marriott brand.
