Great staff at reception who were able to get our room ready within 1 hour despite us checking in well before the 3pm check in time... we were jet lagged and appreciated this service. The concierge service was pleasant and very helpful too. The breakfast was good with lots of choices and pleasant wait staff. The room was spacious ( junior suite ) overlooking the public skating rink... which was fun to see. They played music on Saturday night, but finished at a respectable time. The room had robes and other toiletries as well as a coffee maker. The location was about a 15 minute walk to any of the historical venues we wanted to see like the Art museum and St Stephens Cathedral. We will recommend this hotel to all.

“It’s a bit of an icon, still worth staying at”

This hotel has been around for a while, and it shows. Rooms need some redecorating but are clean and function. The location is great and the lobby bar is fantastic. If you are into a bit of nostalgia, especially around the holidays, this is the place for you.

First time i stayed here was in 2015, the hotel was already overage, let us say that maintenance  does a great job to keep it clean and working, but the design and comfort is dating back to the 1980s. The reception staff is professional and friendly, they compensate for the venue age. Location is prime, no doubt, quiet, across the Stadtpark, centric and in an upscale environment. It has a large garage under it, and the hotel has a spa with a large gym very functional (machines aren't the latest but not as old as the hotel is), unfortunately there is no pool in this Interconti. I was upgraded to a large corner room overseeing the ice rink, at the end of the corridor. Room was very large, circa 35sqm, well maintained and rather clean, but it shows its age, and there were traces of mould in the bathtub already. Curtains are not closing fully (old!) and corridor noise can be heard thanks to the very old doors from the 60s (they are original from the construction). The bedding are OK, but do not provide of the highest sleep standard you expect yo find in an IC nowadays. On 12th floor there is the lounge, pretty good food selection, there is a buffet for diner and breakfast is the same here as downstairs. Coffee isn't very good, albeit automated, beans could be of higher standard. Personnal was super friendly, and the view is nice from there too. On ground floor there is a fantastic coffee and pastry place and a great night bar. All in all a good hotel, but far from being a good IC. Been years customers are expecting a refurb, for 200€ a night, it could be better

“We had an OK stay but the hotel could use a make-over”

It is a very large hotel. The check in at the desk was very business like. The person just looked down, didn't look at us when he was talking. I'm an Intercontinental Ambassador and a platinum elite member, but there was no mention of being a loyal and long time member. The hotel is nicely situated… more

It is a very large hotel. The check in at the desk was very business like. The person just looked down, didn't look at us when he was talking. I'm an Intercontinental Ambassador and a platinum elite member, but there was no mention of being a loyal and long time member. The hotel is nicely situated at the entrance of a park and within walking distance of the city center. I was upgraded to a corner room. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious but could use some TLC (Tender Love & Care) as the cabinets, drapes, and design are dated. Much of the furniture had damages, dusty ventilators, faucets were loose, and blood (mosquito) stains on some walls. The lobby and the lobby bar are 1980/1990 style. All in all we had a comfortable stay but I do think that the hotel room rates: €400,- a night, excluding breakfast are too high for what you get/the experience.
