My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights and were booked through a Canadian company called Wing Buddy. Our room was surprisingly large, with a triple closet and loads of dresser drawer space. There was a kettle with tea and coffee supplies as well as a good beverage fridge. The bathroom amenities were good as well; there was a bathtub with a shower, which had great pressure and temperature. As others have mentioned, yes, the furniture (especially the desk top) is scratched (probably from people putting their suitcases on it) and the carpet is looking old and is due for a reno, but our room was absolutely spotless and well maintained through daily housekeeping. It was quiet, too! The breakfast was really great: the large room is set up with table cloths and cloth napkins, and the selection of items was quite good ... the pastries in particular were amazingly fresh and delicious! Yum. I appreciated the larger cups available for tea! The only thing we found strange in a hotel was that the main hallway lights weren't automatically on; we had to switch them on ourselves (there are lighted switches all along the wall in the corridor). They weren't smart lights... just manual ones that you had to turn on! It was a bit disconcerting and felt strange to enter a black corridor when returning to our room in the evening. This area seemed to be safe and clean and is about a 25 minute easy walk to the Inner City, which was ok but a bit chilly in November. We easily downloaded 24-hour transit passes for Vienna's excellent bus/tram/subway system, though, which was perfect for this hotel! Simply walk for a couple of minutes over to Porzellangasse and get on the D Tram at the Bauernfeldplatz stop ... the tram comes by about every 10 minutes and is honour system. We ended up using transit quite a few times to get around the city (including to the Military Museum, which would have taken over an hour to walk to) and it was fabulous ... clean, safe and reliable. Two restaurants in the area of the hotel that we really enjoyed were DAS1090 (we were very lucky to get a table on a Saturday night as we didn't have reservations) and Restaurant D'Landsknecht ... excellent food, drinks and atmosphere at both! Highly recommend, but make a reservation just to be on the safe side. I wouldn't hesitate to stay at this hotel again as it has a lot of nice features (although a renovation/update would be nice!).

“A pleasant stay”

My partner and I stayed here for two nights in April. Overall, a decent hotel and ideal for a weekend away. Pros: Quite location. Helpful, friendly staff. Clean room with the expected amenities (kettle, coffee/tea, hairdryer, safe). Powerful and hot shower. Easy check in and check out. Complimentary baggage storage. 20 minute walk to the centre. Cons: Slightly dated decor, could do with modernisation. Has a garden and roof terrace, but these aren’t worth a visit. Nothing there except a couple of chairs to sit on! Some potted plants/trees and benches would have made this more appealing.

“Tired and Dated”

Tired and Dated. We “upgraded” to stay in this hotel on a tour through a company called wing Buddy. The place is a dump and I can’t imagine What this is an upgrade from. Everything is older and worn. Really worn. I know beds in European hotels are not all that lush and fancy, but this resembles so… more

Really worn. I know beds in European hotels are not all that lush and fancy, but this resembles something you would find in a prison cell. Is also extremely low to the ground. Stains from water leaking around the windows are obvious. It is clean..

“Adequate”

This lifeless hotel is a 3-star at best. It’s is on the old and tired side and could really use a refurbish. It’s unfortunate that the bistro is permanently closed. It is about a 20 minute walk to the town centre. The room, although dated, is spacious and the breakfast was good.
