Very nice accomodation for a city vacation. The location is in a quiet part of Vienna, close to metro U4, clise to Express to airport, with convenient shops and cafes in the area. The hotel is placed in an historical building, so little imperfections are in order. Very clean, everything works well, and the breakfast is very reach. The festive season decorations are now displayed, making a charming impression. So, a nice place to stay for few days and enjoy the city.

The Bellevue is a mixed sort of experience. The outside and the lobby and bar/restaurant area gives the impression of a grand, old-fashioned sort of hotel. But looking at my bill, I know it isn't quite that. Therefore I can curb my enthusiasm. Yes, first impressions are grand and the staff is friendly even while arriving at midnight. Going through the corridors, my booking price starts making sense. All fine, but not quite matching the facade and lobby. The room does make sense according to what we paid. Firstly, it is very clean! No problems at all there. But it is very dated, but not in the positive sense. In the main room the flat sceen will not have the connections (by wire or not) any device from the 5 last years or so can easily use.. The bath does have a nice bathtub, but the tiles seems to be from umm. like the 1980's - brown with some flowers. Don't get me wrong, I am happy with the room! A few scuff marks on some outdated furnitures is no problem. The mattress had definately been updated, so the sleep was good. But this hotel's "party piece" was the breakfast! Oh wow! Proper champagne breakfast with all the hot and cold food you need and more! A great coffee selection and freshly squeezed orange juice. In short; the overall an okay hotel. But the breakfast really makes it fantastic! And it has a friendly and service-minded staff to help! Recommended!

“Well past its glory days ... a very average 3* experience”

This is simply not a 4* hotel. It is run down with tatty carpet and variable service. The bedroom was OK in that the bed was comfy (even if the bed making style of folding up the duvet meant you have to remake it yourself each night). This is simply not a 4* hotel. It is run down with tatty carpet and variable service. The bedroom was OK in that the bed was comfy (even if the bed making style of folding up the duvet meant you have to remake it yourself each night). The small bathroom was functional with a shower over the bath. Hardly anywhere to put your own things. Very few sockets in the room which these days are essential for charging devices. Breakfast did have a good range on offer but was poorly laid out so queues formed especially for hot drinks. The waiting staff were very quick to remove items from the table so a quick trip to the buffet and your place might have been removed for the next guest. Had dinner in the hotel one night which was awful. Tepid soup brought out before the bread and long before the butter. A main that was inedible. I left for a decent meal at a nearby Japanese restaurant The hotel bar is souless and expensive or closed. Try Cafe Saadi just opposite the tram stops and is open until midnight every day (or was when I was there).
