This is a basic hotel with small room and doesn’t provide a view of the city or harbour, but it was clean, modern, comfortable and a very good price. All the staff were friendly and made us feel very welcome. The hotel is in a perfect location, right in the heart of the city close to bars and restaurants and so close to trains and light rail. The $20 breakfast was worth it, nothing too fancy, but very nice food. There is only 2 lifts and for a busy hotel, you have to wait a few minutes for the lifts, but if that’s the worst I have to say about a hotel, it wasn’t a bad stay. I’d definitely stay there again.

The location couldn’t have been better—super convenient for getting around and close to everything we wanted to see. The staff was friendly and welcoming, always ready with a smile. Breakfast was definitely worth it, with plenty of options like fresh fruit, hot dishes, and more to fuel us for the day ahead. And the cocktails at the bar? Amazing. As margarita fans, we couldn’t have been happier. - As a former hospitality manager, I want to give a shout-out to Lily and Josh, whom we met at the reception. They are an exceptional team, blending expertise with a warm, approachable vibe. While enjoying their cocktails, I had the chance to watch them in action and saw how easily they shift from lightheartedness to focus when needed. Their energy and laughter are contagious, making everyone feel welcome just by being around them. They’re food advisors, concierges, bartenders, even cooks—and they handle it all with a smile, effortlessly balancing efficiency and friendliness. I’ve seen them work in perfect sync, supporting each other during busy times and engaging with guests in a genuinely authentic way. It’s rare to encounter this level of dedication in a budget-friendly hotel, and as someone who’s been in their shoes, I know how tiring their job can be. - As first-timer guests with Ibis, we were thoroughly impressed, and rest assured, we’ll definitely be back!

We stayed at the hotel in the first week of Jan. The location is excellent and in the heart of downtown sydney. It is very close to most of the attractions and shopping streets. It is very close to the Chinatown area and there are many restaurants nearby. The hotel rooms are clean but small. The beds in our room were creaky and the AC did not work well. The shower area is cramped and uncomfortable. The room had a microwave which was helpful for us. The luggage storage area in the basement was poor and not monitored. While the location could not be better, but compared to the Ibis hotel in downtown Melbourne, this hotel was definitely a downgrade in quality. For the price being charged, the services could be better.
