Our "go to" hotel when in Sydney. Terrific position on the light rail, so easy access to Circular Quay and everything else down town, as well as The Sydney Fish Market and a short walk to China Town and Central Station. The hotel is a beautiful Art Deco building with a traditional Aussie pub out the front offering generous happy hours and the food is great, served in a separate dining room. Our room this trip really didn't have much of a view, but the bed was really comfortable, the room and bathroom were clean, and there was a good selelection of tea and coffee and sensible size mugs. The room was really quiet at night and the security is great. The staff were accomodating and allowed us to check-in early and were very helpful with storing our luggage for free for the day we checked out. Always approachable and ready to please. After about ten stays, we will come back again next time!

We love staying here as its always the same high standard from the rooms to the staff. Sometimes you may not get a street view but the room is laways the same bright clean a little out dated but hey thats the character of this hotel. We had 4 pillows 3 which were really hard I called reception and asked if they could replace the 3 hard ones for soft ones, within the hour they were knocking on our door with 3 nice soft ones.

Excellent experience staying here. It's so close to Central Train Station and the light rail, which makes it really easy to get anywhere. The staff were all very lovely and we received absolute top class customer service at all times. The rooms aren't posh, the decor isn't modern, but that doesn't matter overall when you want somewhere for a few nights that won't break the budget.

“Mid week stay OK,”

There are many pluses for this hotel. Firstly, the location is great for those travelling by train to Central Station as you can just walk on down. There are many pluses for this hotel. Firstly, the location is great for those travelling by train to Central Station as you can just walk on down. The hotel is right on the light rail line so you can get down to the northern parts of the city and Circular Quay really easily, or out to Moore Park or Randwick. You can walk to Chinatown and Darling Harbour and there are plenty of bars and restaurants in walking distance including Spice Alley. The rates are very reasonable, particularly if you are staying mid week as the price goes up on Friday and Saturday nights. The downside is that the rooms (or at least the one we stayed in) are getting quite dated and are quite small. They are, however, clean. Reception staff are not very friendly and in fact appear a bit cynical, for example when checking out , no "how was your stay" or "thanks for staying" but instead a curt "you're right to go". Domestic staff were good and as were the bar staff. I would stay here again but only if the rates were reasonable and it would not probably be worth the extra money asked for on weekends.
