The top reviews of Oaks Port Douglas Resort are: What a fantastic stay we had this week at Oaks Port Douglas Resort. I'm a single mum of 2 kids (boy 9 and girl 14), and we were very well catered for during our 4 night stay. Firstly, our 2 bedroom apartment was spacious and ideal!! The small kitchen had everything we needed for those times we decided to save money and eat in. We had a garden view - the greenery was delightful. The small laundry in our apartment was put to good use! Free laundry powder was very much appreciated. Apartments are not serviced unless staying for more than 5 nights, but that didn't bother us at all. Unfortunately the WiFi was poor quality during our stay which was apparently due to a Telstra fault. This made working remotely a challenge. I'm sure it will be rectified soon. Oaks Port Douglas is a little further out of town than Sheraton and Peppers, but it's only q few minutes by shuttle and if you enjoy a walk, you could do it in 40 minutes or so. The kids and I enjoyed our adventurous walk from Oaks to 4 Mile Beach also. Yes, there are resorts that are beach front, but it didn't feel necessary to us. The pool at Oaks is gorgeous, very much a highlight of our stay, split into sections, and the kids absolutely loved the swim-up bar where they ordered drinks and hot chips. There were plenty of deck chairs for everyone, and importantly, there were plenty of sunny spots available. I note this in particular because we took a look at PortSea Mantra where we were supposed to stay until a last minute error occurred with our booking. Well I'm now very grateful for that error, because in comparison the PortSea pool is nowhere near as nice and it's mostly in the shade. Oaks pool is expansive, clean and beautiful.... our only complaint is that occasionally a shortage of clean towels. Such a fun and lively atmosphere at the pool, especially on weekends when there are more people around and the musicis pumping!!. We spent at least a few hours each day there. Other guests are friendly around the pool, everyone was having a great time, and as a solo parent it's that much more enjoyable when a resort feels like a community, as Oaks did. Breakfast at the Lilpad restaurant was not the most extensive, but the kids were happy enough with standards like eggs, bacon, sausage, juice, pancakes. Good value, too. Staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, we were thrilled with our stay and we can't wait to come back!!.

“Fantastic family option - gorgeous pool area!”
