We can’t rave about the fantastic service we received enough! We booked 8 months in advance and a week before we arrived, Anne advised that the highway between cairn and port Douglas would be closed due to the Ironman event that day. This was the day she had noted we were arriving and true to her assumptions, we would have endured significant delays traveling to freestyle from cairns. Thanks to her heads up, we were able to rearrange our entire trip to make sure the road closure didn’t affect us. We are so grateful and thankful. Upon arrival, Anne was like a walking talking review site herself! Giving us hot tips on the best food/coffee/tourist attractions as well as travel times needed to get to them all. We subsequently enjoyed a beautiful dinner at her recommendation of restaurant. What the unit lacked in terms of being a little tired, was made up for by the wonderful service. We had everything we needed in order to thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Thank you Anne!

Apartment was immaculate with everything we needed. Walking distance to shops, beach and marina. Loved the pool and spent a lot of time in it. Anne, the duty manager, could not have been more helpful. Gave us all the information we needed, booked our trips and sorted out problem when one of the providers forgot to pick us up. Highly recommend this place.

“Resort okay but issues with room #13”

The resort itself was nice enough with an inviting, heated pool and a bbq area, and within easy walking distance of the beach, marina, and main street. Upon our arrival Anne was very helpful in providing us with advice about local amenities, eateries etc. We were allocated room 13, which was on the first floor at the back of the resort and were told it was a favourite with Kiwis because it is very quiet and sunny. We can't comment on the sun aspect as we didn't see any sun at all during the 3 days we had in Port Douglas. However, due to noise from neighbouring properties we certainly didn't find it quiet. A couple of times we sat out on our balcony in the late afternoon and had to listen to the cream of Port Douglas's male youths enjoying their swimming pool, accompanied by a plethora of foul language. And on a couple of mornings, we ate breakfast on our balcony to the sound of an electric saw and nail gun thanks to neighbours on a different property building a fence. Obviously none of this was within the control of the resort managers but it certainly negatively impacted our stay. We would have had a more peaceful stay had we been in a pool-view room. The room was clean enough but in need of some TLC. The most unappealing aspect of it was the sofa that had obviously suffered some water damage at some point. Ideally this needs to be replaced but, if replacing it isn't an option, we felt it would be better to just remove it from the room rather than leave it there in its current dismal state. The bathroom door didn't line up properly to close so, if one of us was using the bathroom during the night, the significant gap let too much light into the bedroom thus disturbing the other person. The door also seemed to be missing a proper fitting for the handle. And the toilet seemed to have been installed without sufficient thought given to how much room was required, resulting in the pan being offset from the rest of the toilet - this wasn't a major issue for us, just looked odd. The main room was also very dark due to much of the light coming from windows that only had shutters and no glass. If the shutters were opened the bugs came in so we had to leave the shutters closed all the time. On the plus side, having a small dishwasher in the kitchen was a bonus - who wants to handwash dishes on holiday! Not sure what the other rooms are like but, based on room #13, we would look for alternative accommodation if we were to return to Port Douglas.
