We had an 8 hour layover between our incoming international flight and our domestic flight back to the Gold Coast. There are no pay to use landside lounges available at Melbourne Airport so we decided on a 5 hour short stay at the Parkroyal. After a 9 hour flight plus time getting to the airport and boarding etc (all up more than 12 hours travel time) it was sheer luxury to have a nice shower and a few hours sleep in a proper bed. The hotel itself is well located 100m from the terminal face and has all the business hotel facilities ie bars, restaurant, gym and swimming pool. All up the $120 fee was an absolute bargain and if we need to connect flights in Melbourne again we will definitely be back

“Family Friendly Hotel beside Airport”

We booked the queen queen room and it was a fabulous choice for a family of 4. The room comes with 1 king bed and 2 single beds. The toilet also includes a bath tub. The in room dining is quite nice. Most importantly, the hotel is just beside the terminal within 50 to 100m. This meant that if u need to catch an early flight, this is the most convenient hotel that you can go for. Good customer service going beyond park royal hotel standard.

Very average and sub par experience Booked a day room for 5 hours to get some shut eye as I had arrived from an international flight and connecting to another one later in the day Check in was easy. Spacious, comfy room and bed and had everything I needed for a short visit Unfortunately the positives end there. Wait time at the cafe to get a takeaway coffee was 15 minutes . Clearly they were short staffed and couldn’t cope with the amount of visitors coming in . Coffee was horrible, lukewarm. Decided to go get lunch elsewhere and when I came back to the room it flashed red. Went down to the reception and was told I was only meant to be there for 3 hours. Explained that I had a 5 hour day visit and I had 2 more hours to go. And then as I was getting ready to check out, I get a knock on the door 30 mintues before from some random person and she was like “oh I was just making sure someone is in the room” …bizarre. Lastly, I had to print off some documents so decided to use the printer at their business centre. Firstly, this was a mission to get things rolling. A lovely lady did help me out at the end of the end. She had to give me a pin etc. When I told her that I had about 20-30 pages to print she said that would be chargeable. I had called the hotel prior if printing is complimentary and the person I spoke to confirmed that it was. Anyway, I only decided to print the bare minimum in black and white and the lady said that she wouldn’t charge me for it and apologised for the miscommunication from the hotel earlier. Overall, this hotel while it is convenient in terms of location, I would not be returning
