I travelled to Melbourne for a girls trip solo. I decided against booking where my friends were staying, and booked directly with Marriott Melbourne. I booked a great package deal through Marriott directly for a Grand Deluxe Queen Room (room for more package) which was $299 a night and included welcome drinks, $75 credit daily and a late checkout. I arrived late Friday afternoon and checked out Sunday afternoon. I stayed in room 1012 which was on the top floor and had a view overlooking a neighbouring building. The room was well laid out, with a small but functional bathroom, wardrobe and built-in luggage rack that had drawers underneath. I fully unpacked and then used the top of the luggage rack for my cosmetics and toiletries. There was sufficient room for my luggage to be parked at the end out of the way. The bed was comfortable and the sitting area and desk provided a total of 3 seats. The coffee station and mini bar were well appointed and I appreciated the complimentary waters daily and the mini bar was via room service but there was a small bar fridge available with milk for coffee. The location is excellent, and is on Exhibition Street which is the theatre district. The room was well appointed, I walked to everything and had close access to trams and trains if required. All of the staff I encountered were amazing, and couldn't have been more helpful as I hadn't visited in Melbourne in a long time. My friends and I enjoyed late night bar snacks and drinks in the M Bar, their Old-fashioned is excellent. I will definitely return on future visits to Melbourne. Location, amenities, staff and room standard were all excellent
