Enjoyed another Melbourne city break with my sister and her husband but this time we stayed at Crown Promenade. Last time we stayed at Crown Metropol and, suffering from a bad back, I had some difficulty walking to/from car park and casino. Crown Promenade was much easier to get to and closer to amentities however, disappointing to discover that this hotel does not have an on site restaurant/bar for lunch or dinner. We arrived around 2.30pm and were told that we would have to walk to either Crown Towers (across the roadway) or to the food hall if we wanted something to eat or drink. There is a small hole in the wall espresso bar but they were closed for the afternoon. Considering check in time is not until 3pm, it's a shame that any tired traveller would be unable to easily access any refreshments unless they raid the very expensive mini bar. The hotel does not offer room service either. As with the Crown Metropol, if you want a bath robe to wear to the pool, you need to request one via the guest services on the room phone. The pool area is not very big, but plenty of lounge chairs as well as a sauna, steam room and gym. Guests can grab a drink or a packet of crisps at the sign in desk but only until 6pm. Rooms were large, very clean, great double shower, really comfortable bed! My room on the 18th floor faced the Yarra River and sunrise which was lovely. Rooms accessible via lift and secure guest room key. All you can eat, buffet breakfast at Mesh restaurant only until 10.30am, was really lovely and so much food to choose from, charge back to your room if you wish. Would stay here again definitely for the convenience of Crown Casino Complex, but don't arrive hungry or thirsty.

A great location & all the staff with the exception of one were friendly & helpful. A great location & all the staff with the exception of one were friendly & helpful. The first room we were given was the wrong one as we needed two beds which was booked as two beds & it only had one. The rooms are very clean with reasonable space. Opposite side to the river view is nothing outstanding. the indoor pool is a bonus & well supervised. Very disappointing that there is no room service which made having meals with a small child difficult, luckily the connection to the casino food court was convenient. Breakfast was a good variety with tasty food with efficient & friendly staff at all times.
