“Great location”

Staff were very friendly. Location great. Ocean view room was good, could do with a lick of paint, but it was clean. All 3 verandahs used by the family. Well equipped kitchen for our needs. Unit was a bit smaller than I expected but it was comfortable.

We booked the Sub Penthouse for a very special milestone birthday. Checkin was fast and the staff were very friendly. Unfortunately there were a lot of issues with our accommodation, enough to bring me to tears. One would think the sub penthouse would be spectacular, but unfortunately this was not the case. The only thing spectacular was the views from the windows and balcony. The Queen beds were 30cm high from the floor to the top of the mattress, which made it very difficult getting in and out of bed, especially for my parents who are both in there 70’s and me who had recently had abdominal surgery. Not the type of beds I expected for a sub penthouse. These beds were also on wheels. The toilet seat fell off, the soap dish fell off the wall in the shower, the kitchen cupboard doors did not close, there were no platters or salad bowls in the room for entertaining, the cereal bowls were very badly stained. The walls had been damaged and bogged up with plaster but not sanded and repainted. There were large clumps of cobwebs in the corner of the window in the bedroom. The shower leaked severely onto the tiled floor, which was a serious hazard. Also a broken dining room chair, also rusty dining chairs and a beautiful wall clock which didn’t work until management replaced the battery. All of these issues I raised with Management and I got a “faulty towers” response, I was given more towels to soak up the water from the floor in the bathroom and was told not to let the water run down the glass and this would solve the problem, it didn’t. Mismatched platters were delivered to my room for me to use. I was told the beds have NEVER been an issue before with other guests and housekeeping came and removed the spiders and webs. The next day maintenance came and fixed the soap dish, the toilet seat and apparently the kitchen cupboards (but they still didn’t close). Also a note was left to say that maintenance was trying to source screws to fix the broken chair. Whilst these issues were all maintenance, the pros of this accommodation was it is ideally situated to shops, restaurants and attractions. There are beautiful gardens and pool areas and a games room for children and the “big kids” also. I feel for the amount of money I paid and the fact I expected the “sub penthouse” to be impeccable it was definitely not worth the money. The room was tired and had many many issues. I was also told all of the apartments are privately owned and therefore decorated by the owners with the furniture of their choosing, not Mantra. Whilst I only gave 3 stars, based on my stay and the room issues, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, I give them 5 stars.

“Great Central location and easy access to everything.”

We had a great stay although slightly disappointed with the apartment. We stayed 3 nights. Facilities were great, the view of ocean perfect on the 42nd floor, three pools all great and gym fairly good, we did enjoy our stay very much, due to the convenience of the location to everything with Coles on the ground floor being the icing on the cake. However, we had dated non-smart TVs and extremely poor internet speed so slow we used mobile data instead. There was a strong garbage smell on ground floor that needs fixing and was always there, but it was fine in the apartment just on ground floor when you entered building. Our apartment was Tower 2. As a family we want to be able to logon to Netflix or Prime and watch a family movie with a Smart TV or be able to cast to the TV but the TVs in our apartment were very dated and old. We could have used a HDMI cord from the laptop but that was inconvenient, and we would have had to purchase one. Other apartment in the building may have better TVs but ours certainlty needed updating and would be the biggest improvement which would have increased our satisfaction. We would probably stay again as the value and location was great.
